so everyone knows the video forum is kinda lame, but it doesn't make any sense. . . a bunch of stoners like us should be right on top of the lulzy vid game. i visit a couple video sites whose methods can, i believe, offer yahookans a fun new way to interact with their favorite pot website. it's just an idea, i've no clue how it'd affect server loads or any of that, if at all. but here goes

set up a separate area (like the arcade) where someone can post an embedded vid or link with tags and a description, then give it its own thread where users can rate and comment on it. simple yes, but given proper direction i think this could make yahooka a major destination for internet videos. and it doesn't stop at stupid funny shit. . . documentaries, tv shows, news etc, could all be posted as well.

i think it'd rule hard. thoughts?

i mean an actual area of the site that is devoted to hosting video links. not a forum or sub-forum, but set up more like the actual directory is in the homepage. this layout would be perfect:

category, tags, description, rating and an area to comment. guess it wouldn't be that hard after all

May not be realistic, but here is what I thought when I heard 'yahooka tv'.

Okay, its always playing, in a separate page, like the arcade, that you can go to, and there is only one 'channel'. Users post a video and it starts playing, everyone can choose to tune it to watch it or not, but it is the only thing playing on yahooka tv. After that program is done, the next in line is played.

Or in other words, users can que up what they would like to share so it plays. There would have to be some sort of limitation so people couldn't swamp the thing with BS, like, only one embed per day or something. But we could also make a schedule, so its like, I want my video to play at 8pm est on wednsday so you sign up for that timeslot (maybe one hour) and your vid would play then. And then you cant post another video again that week, or day, or whatever works to avoid spam.

and you could make a thread to advertise it, 'hai guys' my show will be on yahooka tv wed at 8.

but then, we could just embed videos.

but seriously, i think this would be an awesome extension of the yahooka community. the video forum sucks because it's just a forum to post videos. it lacks an element of cohesion. now that i see how the directory has been updated i know the template for this is in place and i'm not going to shut up until you guys realize how awesome this could be

Can we set this up so that any video posted in the forums is also linked to/logged in this directory.

So that way it doesnt take away from posting in the forums, but also makes all video links easily accessible??!?!

Or is that the whole idea in the first place. /still confused
