Yeah I was getting kinda sad thinking about the fact that they used to be all OVER this country, but now you have to go to a protected area just to see them. They were certainly thriving there though, I saw a ton of them. See?

They're just layin' around, not even mad at us for nearly driving them to extinction.

Actually they're extremely dangerous. They never showed any signs of aggression while I was around, but judging by the warning signs at the entrance to the preserve and a few bison websites I looked at once I got home (I know I'm a fag, but those damn buffalo intrigued the shit out of me) they are not an animal you want to get close to. People think they're slow because they're so bulky, but they can run up to 35 mph. So no, I didn't get to touch any. I took those pictures from the safety of my car with my zoom feature, so that's why it looks like I'm closer than I really am to the herd (and to that big mofo in the first pic). I really wish they were a little less hostile, because the babies were so cute. I would have loved to been able to get close enough to pet one. Or ride one.

I took that picture at the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in buttfuck, Oklahoma. It's 39,000 acres of prairie that has been fenced off and protected from hunters, but it's open and free to the public. It was my first time going, but it's only about little over an hour from my house so I will definitely go again in the future. I have a ton more pics, but I should probably give this thread a rest from all my photo luv.

Oh and they have plenty of options for water. The "plains" aren't really as flat as they sound. There were rolling hills that created little mini-valleys where ponds and streams had formed. I even went for a walk in an area where there was a pretty thick forest and a creek with little waterfalls. Very cool place. If you ever come down south, I'll take you there!

SARS, your pics are absolutly beautiful. You have one of those faces that someone could just stare at poetically cuz they wanna draw you...and by someone, I mean me. Had a cabin party this weekend, got a bunch of pictures...

This one is my favorite. Doug-ell-berry Finn got left behind by his ride (or so his drunk ass thought) they hid his shoes and so we told him he'd have to start hitching back to town (2 hour drive away) in my slippers. We sent him on his way, but his ride was just down at the beach and eventually came back and got him./ It was funny to see him so distraught and drunk in my slippers trying to figure out a way home. we decided to get a picture with him incase it was the last time we saw him.

Me laughing shamelessly at my friend Beaver (actual given name) as he tries to barbeque as the bbq is falling apart.
