That's cuz most dudes grow it out and treat it like short hair by not washing or brushing it. Nothing is sexier than nice long hair on a guy. Given that, nothing is more disgusting if the hair looks like shit.

My hair was pretty long at one point, but it was thick as hell. Took 20 some odd razor strokes, and then I shaved it down to, well nothing. I miss it sometimes.
