Homeless people have to deal with issues on a day to day basis that people like you and me never even think about. Here, I'll give you an example: yesterday I was walking through Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco and overheard two rather ragged-looking gentlemen having a conversation. As I passed by them I caught one of them saying "...see what ya gotta do is find a material that keeps the raccoons away from you at night." I can honestly say that I have never gone to sleep wondering whether or not raccoons would bother me. It makes me wonder what other kinds of things homeless people have to worry about that I've never thought of before.
