Forest fires are devasting to the natural ecology of a place, and regardless if no HUMANS got hurt that day, eventually it will come back to haunt them. Besides, people who are that dumb don't deserve to be free breathing the same air as the rest of us who know how to hold our substances.

Not true Regular forest fires are needed by nature. There are some pinecones that only open at high temperatures reached during a fire. The problem is that we put out forest fires instead of letting them burn. So when it does happen there is far more fuel than there should be naturally. This leads to the fire burning hotter and causing ecological damage. Controlled burns are a great thing.

Yeah, the reason the pine beetle is destroying the Western forests these days (other than a sustained period of cold winters) is the lack of [un]controlled burns. Fire suppression has fucked us hard. Seemed/seems necessary if we're going to live in those areas, though.

I'm also with hooked in saying that I agree with GH. Being sober for a month isn't reason to be bragging across the boards like it's some amazing accomplishment. You shouldn't be a drunk in the first place with having a child. This should have happened a long, long time ago.
