RIP Tree
so about 5 years ago after the county tore up some land to put in a drainage pipe by the road and left it a rocky barren wasteland, i planted it with as many plants and trees as i could get.
i planted an alder tree right in the middle and carried 2.5 gallon buckets of water every day during it's first summer to get it established. it grew big and beautiful in 5 years, over 12 ft tall. it only took a moment for some drunk to plow through smashing 2 small fir trees and knocking over that alder. tore it out and tore off the bark and its dead Last edited by v3d4; 06-24-2008 at 11:49 AM. |

Aw. RIP tree.
MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, they took the wood and did something great with it. Like, whiddled a wooden wheelchair for someone who needed it. More than likely though, maybe it kept someone warm. EDIT - Also Veda, for 5 years you helped the air, and I'm sure countless creatures benefited from your hard work and kindness. The 5 years it was here, it was beautiful.

i don't know the lay of the land thereabouts, but perhaps that tree saved the drunk from plowing further and being seriously hurt or killed.

thanx guyz
i didnt finish the story cuz someone came in who wasnt supposed to see me wasting time on a drug website. anyway, the jeep cherokee was there all smashed up in the morning, driver was long gone. the tow truck came and got it and i hear through the grapevine the owner reported it stolen but i suspect the owner was the one that done it. fortunately the fir trees will grow back as the roots were not touched but the dead body of the alder is in the garage now, i plan to make a walking stick and a pipe stem out of the trunk. so yeah. ill just plant 2 more. or 10 more. or 100 |
