Should I take a job at Hot Topic?

One of my really close friends works at Hot Topic and he said I should apply cause I really need a job and I've been having shit luck at getting a job and he would get me hired.

I kind of hate Hot Topic and similar stores, as they've commercialized nonconformity, which is ridiculous imo. That and they've essentially invented Scene Kids, which is a cardinal sin.

Also, I don't fit the bill of a HT customer or employee.

I'm a 60s-70s free love hippie at heart, I have long hair in a ponytail, I'll wear anything that fits, urbanwear, band tees, blue jeans, khakis, polos, Hawaiian shirts, anything.

I don't wear bondage pants and I've never died my hair, so it actually has texture and body and isn't dead like every scene kid's overworked piece of shit hair. I don't have any piercings or tattoos although I want some of each.

I have a huge musical background, I don't only listen to Fall Out Boy(I never do) and Evanescence.

But I really, really, really need a job. I'm 18 and my mom is giving me her house to manage/rent out. And I've got to put about $5,000 worth of money and a good month of work into getting it up to codes and whatnot.

Should I apply?

my sis worked there for a while before she graduated college. they were good to her there.
nothin wrong with working at hot topic, or anywhere else, except for hot dog on a stick cuz of the stupid hats and stupid jerking motion they have to do when making the fresh lemonade. hell no, it's not okay, imo. but their lemonade is the best. fresh cherry lemonade.

how about you focus on being healthy before you decide to get a shitty ass job. You ever think of that. You should try getting some sort of construction job something that will make you sweat your ass to help you loose weight. Id really hate to see something bad happen to you because you dont care about yourself.

If you get a real job if only for the summer because i believe your in collage. You will actually be able to afford to be able to fix the house up. And if you got into some type of construction/carpentry job you'll learn how to fix all the shit yourself which will save you tons of cash. Then if you rent it out and your tenants fuck it up you'll be able to charge the what a it would cost if you hired somebody, so youll be making some extra change that way.

If you got a job at hot topic you would probably wouldnt be able to move in/ rent it out for atleast 6 months. Thats if you arent spending any of your cash and just saving it all youd probably only be making 1200 a month and figure in your habits/hobbies that isnt much compared to a job were you could make that in 2 weeks.
