friday afternoon I got some pics of some puppys from my mom, shed never let me have a dog when i was a kid and it was somthing i always wanted and i mean bad, i loved dogs so fucking much, and I was constantly denied..so , when I moved out I got a puppy and got supper attatched to it, then had to move out again and it was my roomates dog so I had to leave it, and not being on good terms with them anymore it was pretty much not seeing the dog anymore, and really that shit was hard as fuck, I only had it for a few months and got that attached to it, it was really shitty to lose such a good friend(the dog, not my roomate)...

So, I moved back home and me and my mom have been kicking around the idea of getting a puppy, so this friday she sent me some pics of a huge litter of puppys, anyway she told me I could get 2 of em, so im all like excited and shit, then when we get there shes like oh lets only get one...

Man, somthing youve got to understand about my mom, is shes always planning and promising shit and changing her mind at the last min, wich is fine, whatever people can do what they want, but dont built me up just to fuckin tear me down....and I had asked her not to do that when the whole thing came up...I specificly asked her not to get my hopes up about the shit...

So, the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth and I just wanted to leave rather than try to pick a single puppy out of a giant litter(10+ puppys)...besides that(and i know this sounds lame) I have hang ups about breaking up litters of puppys even though i doubt they even remember after a long time, I kinda wanted it to have a sibbling...but thats besides the point...

I could have gone back and got one...I dont wanna get attatched to anything else and have somthing happen to it, or have to worry about it and take care of it...its very enjoyable and the good times are wonderful...but then you eventually have to deal with the loss as well as illness and injury...I get to attatched to things, especially dogs, I act like a litle girl around puppys and im a huge animal lover...

Is it even worth trying to get one, cuz I still can, not the same puppys I had wanted, but I could get a puppy...I just dont know if I want to get attached to anything again...some people feel this way about humans, however I feel that human friends come and go, but a dog...man thats...your dog...

just wanted to vent, I havent really been this upset or conflicted in a long time...

and i dont have a puppy...=(

Puppies rock. If I could choose the mode of my own death, it would be to be crushed under an avalanche of playful puppies. Congrats, GHM.

BTW, my parents were just like your mom. They were always talking, but never following through. You can't help but feeling fucked with, but really, it's just about them and their ever present doubts. Still sucks, but it isn't personal.

Dude, get the puppy!!

Its a clear choice. Your worries are grounded, but the way it reads, you have a choice to make between having something good for a while then having to deal with loosing it, or living in fear and never having the good thing at all, even for a limited time.

All things are limited, even our own lives right?

I donno man, dogs are great, a lot of responsibility, so make sure you can give it a good home, and you get a breed that suits your life, but its great.

and yeah GHM I wanted a dog sooo bad all through out my childhood, a German Shepherd to be specific..ever since I saw the movie Chips the War Dog. I had a little stuffed German Shepherd doll when I was probably 5 or 6 years old. But yeah my mom would not let me get a dog. I would beg and plead but the answer was always no, so I eventually just gave up. Trust me though, as soon as I move out I plan on getting my dog. I am a loner anyhow, having a good dog around to keep me company would be nice.

Oh yeah and the movie "Homeward Bound" made it even worse.

I love animals too. I've had my cat cheech since I was 6, she's my best mate. But I don't plan on having a pet ever again. I personally just don't want the responsibility, I've had too much of that shit for someone my age.
