Got this for free last night, it went something like:

me, looking at the value adds on the big bottles in back: so uhh... those are just gonna sit there ?

manager: i guess... did you want a few?

me: ok... *grabs a few

manager: you know you might as well just take all of them so it doesnt look so suspicious.

me: ok...

i have worked at liquor stores in the past. get ready for massive binge drinking and discount alcohol.

my store stocked over 200 types of beer so i know (in most cases) at least a beer or two from most countries.

the job stops being fun when you cease to be able to ignore the major alcoholism that consumes 95% of your regulars. hopefully you won't be working there long enough to see any of them die. don't take this the wrong way, liquor store work is easy as hell and you also get to smoke weed and drink at work. plus you get loads of free shit

CC youre in the west though aren't you? mine is government run, and it's also a nice big store in a nice part of town so there aren't TOO many boozehounds, but the ones that are are only annoying due to seeing them in at the same time everyday buying the same old shit

i always liked talking to the regulars more than the randoms. they are the only ones you are guaranteed to see every time you work there. you might as well be friendly with them. if your store wasn't the closest on foot (because they are too drunk to drive) then they'd probably just stumble somewhere else.

my liquor store was not government run. my boss didn't even run it. they gave me the keys and security codes and told me to put the money in the safe. i was in alberta when i worked there i live in oslo now. i would be interesting to work at a liquor store here because alcohol is taxed about 9000% (seriously). the duty free liquor shop at the airport in oslo is the biggest in the world. nobody goes through it without having purchased the maximum allowed amount of alcohol because the prices are about 10% of what you would pay in a government run store.

Cool man. I once worked at a headshop for 5 months lol and mother of god were the owners generous, hooked me up with tons of pot connects, gave me free paraphernalia, secret discounts and what have you.

Is canadian club Whiskey any good? Got gifted a bottle but it looked and smelt very cheap, two days and i shall be the judge for my self.

my uncle (RIP) had a liqour store/country bar

profitable business but not an easy job. Some of the regulars caused fights, waitresses were stealing, etc. One time these two regulars drove a pick up truck in the store (when it was closed) and stole a few bottles of booze... Idiots used their own truck and no masks.

Twas a matter of time till the cops watched the security tape and bust their ass.
