herpes is contagious.
herpes has no cure.
fever blisters/cold sores are called oral herpes. this is generally type1. 50%-80% of adult americans have this.
genital herpes is usually caused by the type 2 virus. usually. about 20% of adult americans have this.
you can get genital herpes from someone who has a cold sore, from oral sex. (this surprised me)
it can be dangerous for the infant, for a infected mother to give birth the regular way.
a person can be contagious without having any visible symptoms.
herpes is part of a family of 8 viruses which include chickenpox and shingles. there are no cures for any of them. when you get 'well', the virus is lying dormant in your nerves, waiting.
So depending on your definition of a virgin.....
