Maybe not, but he sure as fuck influenced just about every musician from the 1950's until today, there are very few single track recordings out there these days if you aint a bluegrass band.

Rickenbacker 'invented' (commercially, others, including Paul had designs but what we know as an axe today was Rickenbackers work) the solid body electric in 1932, Les just came along and showed everyone how to use the damned thing. It was his innovations that led to the Gibson Les Paul.
