How many of you would go back in time
to say age 14, knowing what you know now, and do it all over again, at the push of a button?

While I loved my younger youth and would be floored to do HS all over again I wouldn't change my past for anything.

I said yes, but maybe I change my mind. If I went back, I could fix every stupid ass thing I ever did wrong. I would be able to be a happy teenager, I would DEFINITELY get laid more, I would have cleaned up on grades instead of always rebelling, and I would have known how to handle my parents. Also, knowing the future of the next 25 years would be helpful in areas such as investment. I was 14 in 1980-81, and I bet Microsoft stock was pretty cheap back then.
But, if I did all that, and had the kick ass life my depression and bad circumstances cost me, I would have to give up some things I have now, like my kids. I find it hard to imagine being happier with different kids, and their memory would always be there. So, yeah, I pretty much would suck it up and accept my self-inflicted life up to this point.

shit i don't even want to go back for prolonged periods of time, tho it'd be nice to go back and make different split-second decisions. see: don't fuck her, don't swallow that, and go to school you worthless piece of shit, etc.

I voted yes, because I'd like to stand off in the distance that night and watch myself nearly flip out and then convince myself I would be okay. Many, many times.

I voted no.
It would be nice to have the knowledge and perspective to do it all over again presumably better, with more wisdom. But would I really do it better? If I have that much wisdom, shouldnt I be living my life now with it?
I think it would be incredibly frustrating to have to go back even one day of my life and live it over again trying to 'do it better'. I would feel like I was waiting for a decade before I actually started living again (if I was 14) and finally moving forward instead of just spell-checking my life, so to speak.

That's a cool analogy.

Pretty irrelevant when you're choosing to stay in the past though.
