telling my father im "leaving the nest" the plans are all made and i am moving on Friday and havnt told him. i know for sure he doesnt want me to and will try to stop me. I just fucking hate Georgia so much. i havnt been myself since i been here and i get depressed all the time abt how much i wanna be in FLA so im making the move.

That would be great if i had any family here. just him and my stepmom and her family who are all rly annoying and my little sisters. all my real fam is in Florida and New York. i think im just going to tell him that i love him and my sisters and my stepmother even but i used to be a rly happy person and that kind of left me when i left Florida. I gave it a little over a year and im still miserable here so i have made the decision and i am leaving. i know hes going to be so pissed off at me but im just hoping he will eventually get over it.

hahaha i know! i been contemplating ways to get him to kick me out. like buy some coke and leave it out on the counter or something....or say im preggers. i have tried my best to pick a fight with him over the past few days but honestly we dont even see each other much cuz we both work alot.

How old are you? Unless you're ridiculously unprepared or super young I can't see why he would physically stop you from going. What are your plans in FL?

Personally I think just being straight up and hitting him with it is the best option. Causing a fight and moving out under a cloud could cause unforseen problems that could last longer than you want them to.

Like someone said, unless you're too young to move out then its really not his decision to make, just standing up for what you want to do can be hard but its definately the best way in the long run.

yeah i mean im about a month short of 19 so some will say im too young. my plans for short term in florida are work full time and save money to go to a tech school for esthetician. my father wasnt going to help me pay for school anyway so its not like im throwing that away. i think that once he sees that im not falling on my face and im doing ok he will get over it. but i mknow hes gonna hate me for a while. he wants me to live here till im like 23 and done with school or something but i just freakin hate it here. i have like 3 freinds who im not even too fond of. i guess they are just for going out and burning with when i get too bored. I seriously dont want to get stuck here. i feel like i left my happy personality and my life in florida.

Well the best way to go about it is probably to just tell him why u want to leave. Kinda like u just told us. being strait forward and honest is your best bet. He cant stop u from doing so at your age.

Make sure to plan for your move well. Get in to college or work of some sort as soon as possible and basically just live responsibly. Once u do that your father will back off. It also helps to have family in the area u plan to move to of course.

U do have to remember to look at is from his side as well. 19 is still young. In many ways i was responsible at that age but at the same time had a very far way to go in other areas but dint see it at the time.

thank you everybody! todays the day i tell him. hes sleeping till the afternoon cuz he worked the night shift last night. im gonna wait till tonight prolly so i give him time to get out of his grumpy sleepy mood.

Wait for him to wake up properly, make him some food/coffee... wait for him to cheer up, then hit him with it! Bit cruel as he will go straight back to grumpy mode, but best bet I reckon!

lol, if your 23 dude welcome to the age of trying to find what you are,. Im leaving on oct 4th for a 3 month road trip around the sotuh, ill be in florida by the end of oct hopefully. and im 23

I just straight up told my parents, im going on a trip, i dont know when ill be back... but we are playing music and camping in the hills... PEACE!!

they have done nothing but try and prepare me for the journey thus far... thats the least a parent can do
