how do you deal with nazis in your town?

two different scenarios:
1. I was walking in Salem the other day and there was this kid on the sidewalk walking the opposite directions with SS patches and a shaved head n so forth. There were a lot of families around and tons of minorities. My first instinct was to push him in front of traffic, but I ended up just turning around and walking beside him long enough to say "the reason people love the history channel so much is because nothing looks better than a pile of dead nazis". He grunted and kept walking.

2. A friend of a friend has been kinda steadily sliding into naziism. First it was just like German flags and stuff, but now he's got like iron cross tattoos and a swastika flag in his room. He denies being a nazi and says he's just a 'National Socialist' But come on, a swastika flag?

so what do you do when you have to deal with nazis?

i can honestly say that there are few to no nazis where i live. far too many mexicans, blacks, asians, indians, arabs, etc etc. my little city is pretty diverse, im not sure if the nazis are just underground or what.

There aren't any admitted Nazis in my area because if there were, they'd get run out by both the minorities they abhor, and the non-white-trash caucasians.

yeah I'm in MA so there's not really many. He was the first person I've seen around here who was openly and obviously a nazi.

so what do you do when you have to deal with nazis?

1. make a public spectacle. maybe a goofy goose-step? laughter and humiliation never hurt either.

2. inform the friend of a friend that national socialists ARE nazis. one-in-the-same. confront him about his actual beliefs - does he believe in racial purity, etc? i think confronting him with more knowledge about the thing he 'supports' will make him look like a fool and hopefully reconsider his position.

education is the key - the more you can educate the dimwitted and the masses, the more margenilized these stupid fucking ideas will be.

I got a friend with a Confederate flag on his wall and a tiny swastika on his ankle.

But he's also gay for his former roommate who is as black as they come.

So I'm not too sure where he stands.

But other than him I don't know of any Nazi's here. But minorities are the majority here, so that's probably why.

Yo thats weird.

WIthin the last couple months theres been a blatant white supremecist gang around town, you rarely see them all together but their bald, white, prison tattoos, sometimes wife beaters sometimes no shirts.

Some of my friends had problems with them I guess, where they were just out being drunk and suddenly surrounded by a bunch of freaky white people.

It's weird cause they showed up after i verbalized my apprehension towards bald white guys.

I think the 2 quotes in your signature answer your question.

The fact that you would consider pushing someone you don't like into traffic suggests that you have no regard for the liberties of others when their liberties don't align with your beliefs.

I'm not trying to roast you on this, I think the concept of things like Nazis generally stink of ignorance.

freedom can be broadly divided into 2 categories; freedom from (security) and freedom to (liberty). To push some one in front of a car would deprive them of security, not liberty.

edit: that was kind of an asshole thing for me to say I know, but honestly wouldn't you go back in time and kill Hitler if you could?

Additionally, more often than not when a person makes core decisions about beliefs in ways like that, they won't care if you feel differently anyway.

Now, if they engage in behavior that is harmful or dangerous to others, that's a different story altogether.

Kill Hitler......a large part of the US Space program came about because of science and technology that Germany developed and the US brought home. The research that the world has benefited from.....it has tentacles worldwide.

I don't know how to answer that.

On one hand there is the amount of life that was sacrificed worldwide because of the war, and on the other there is the improvement in quality and longevity of life because of the science that Hitler's power helped to foster.

I'm curious where Sage would be on this.

Von Braun and Heisenburg would have existed and worked on rockets without Hitler. They were pretty much just using the war as an excuse to work on what they loved.

Also I can't think of a single thing the space program has done that has had any kind of positive impact on everyday life.

Salem is a pretty diverse place. I wouldn't go out of my way to fuck with anyone I see there.

I also hit up The Army Barracks every so often and I get the impression skinheads go there a lot...Don't want to be fucking up opportunity.

EDIT: And for the record I thought you were talking about coppers.

a friend of mine works at the army barracks, I used to like that place a lot when I was like 16 but now I just go for grateful dead stickers n such.
