Does resin get you high?

didn't think you would. i'll try to describe: the resin tastes nasty, makes coughs nasty, the taste lingers in your mouth, resin sucks through, it's all over you fingers/pants, and it barely gives you a high. just a heavy head feeling. that combined with the nastiness of resin equals a nasty high. but the weak high alone is okay. it's a major relief when you're dry.

lolol I smoke the resin in my glass pieces that tobacco never touches and only fine quality bud goes through.... If it's late at night and my guy is asleep or i can't be arsed to go out and get some bud I'll just light the pipe as is and get a nice hit off the resin inside.

If i want to get really high I can scrape the resin from the bowl and smoke that. Either way it gets me high for a while. This will usually save me some cash and time and Really i could probably live without buying weed for a while.

But I am a bit of a smoke snob and prefer to smoke nice fresh bud flown into me from BC.

I guess what i mean by "dirty" is that it leaves me with kind of a muddy/tired feeling rather than that clear, crisp high i usually get. i still get high, but it doesn't last nearly as long. I use it mostly for transitioning from a long period of smoking to a period of sobriety. You're right SARS, fiending isn't the right word. I'm just referring to the "blah" feeling i get the day after i run out.

I'm pretty sure resin doesn't contain high contents of thc...The word resin is actually misused. Resin is the technical name for hash, or thc trichromes. What's in the pipe is like...left overs. I'm fairly confident pipe resin has less thc than shwag.

I know if you smoke hash pipe resin it's good because that shit melts and goes down into the pipe. But isnt a lighter so hot that it burns off the thc pretty quickly? It doesnt seem like the trichromes would have much time to melt together and then melt down onto the sides. Plus even if it sits there it's getting lit every time you light a bowl. By the time you scrape it wouldnt it be all burned out?

from my experience there is more as well. a big bowl of resin tastes nasty as hell but gets me super blazed. thc and other chemicals are sticky, as you smoke your pipe regularly it just sticks to the side and builds up like a snowball rolling down a hill.

of course its going to be subjective even if there is more, the placebo effect is very real and influencing on people. if they think they wont get as high, they probably wont.

Hmm yeah it does get you high but I wouldn't touch the shit anymore. It tastes foul, probably because I used to spin my weed with baccy. Still though, I'd rather go without. Haven't felt the need to scrape resin in a long time.

Yeah if you scrape a glass pipe that hasn't been used in a while and get a little chunk, say the size of a fresh pea and smoke that, you will get high as fuck.

Resin I think forms as some of the vaporous compounds of the smoke stick to the inside of the piece (including THC). As this builds more and more gets caught on the way out and it starts to thicken into something scrapable. The mix is basically the water, sugar, and chemical leftover of incinerated weed mixed with a shit ton of ash and soot.

I do like a good gen joint, and it does get me high as it burns forever. This is the best way to resmoke resin for sure.

Sometimes when I'm down to the bottom of a bowl in my chillum I start to heat up resin, since it's a small piece and collects it fast. I know this because I'm getting way bigger hits than what is left in the bowl. I don't go out of my way to make this happen, by when it does I get ripped.

Now I'm not sure if it's totally resin as much as it is just smoke/lack of oxygen in this case.

it's all just residue, "plant matter tar and shit" is still the byproduct of weed so it still remains chemically active...

Oh as far as the THC content debate goes the answer is pretty simple.


The THC content of the resin is exactly the same as the THC content of the original smoke. The original smoke's THC content obviously being lower than the THC content of the fresh marijuana. So the smoke you get when you smoke the resin will have less THC in volume of smoke than at first.. but not by too much less. With resin it's not too hard to get the thing vaporizing instead of burning with a lighter.
