On the other hand, I have personal experience with a site that went down hill so far and so fast that it became unrecognizable to me. Think of that, think of being told what to do, having the site totally changed by a bunch of snot nosed punks that haven’t even registered yet. Don’t say it can’t possibly happen. Sometimes founders have issues that take them away from their babies, and those who take over run it into the ground. If you don’t keep strict control of a site, all manner of bad things can happen, and I would be so sad if what happened to Yahooka happened here. In the inline marijuana community Yahooka is now the punch line to every joke, and it got that way because of a lack of control and stability. If restrictive registration practices can help bring stability, then I say restrict away, anything’s worth making sure we don’t become another Yahooka.
