G-13

G-13 is a pure indica, and the legend says it was discovered by the U.S. government research program on hemp as fuel
("The DOE SERI ethenol from biomass program" by C.E. Wymen pub. 1987, United States Government department of Energy)

There are 3 versions of G-13 being spread around...

One is by a grower named Pacific and it is called the PG-13.
Some argue it isn't a G-13 anything, but most that grow it agree it probably is.

One is by a grower named Airbourne and is called the AG-13.
It is supposed to be a G-13 x NL that was sold through sensi seeds.

There is also one from Cali that is also supposed to be a G-13 x NL also.

It has not been breed properly since there is no real breeding program anymore, it is more a seed production facility and that is the truth....for quite a few years.
I had the most interesting G13 cross with the Skunk and was testing that with several growers before going on to finish the line properly.
But if you read any older threads about this topic you will see that I believe alot of this G13 stuff to be hot air.
I 've tried the haze crosses and loads of others and felt it to be nothing special.
I am not for a minute saying that there is nothing good but the reliability of the source is important...
and the source is not so widespread as the information tends to make one feel.

The most interesting hybrid that could be used for commercial production is the skunk x G13 which is why I went on with it,
not to mention the crazy amount of private reqests I received.
So be ware of paying too much money for what you are not sure about.
Try to see photos or get reassurance from those you consider to be reliable.
I am only to happy to help anyone identify plants with the traits of g13 to anyone who asks or shows me.
Patience is necessary with good things in life.
Mr Nice will release this hybrid when all info has been tabulated from all the growers concerned, and when breeding gets back on line.
Till then have a healthy skepticism and do not believe everything you hear, especially from very young or new seed companies.
I am not having a go at anyone I am just speaking in general.

The G13 story/clone has been around since the 80s!

[EDIT - since this is the gene pool - the two i've tried were potent but uncomplex in stone. Pretty dull in flavour but pretty weed, nice and full]

[EDIT 2 - Surprising to read that they claim it is good to breed from... most of the growers I have spoken to claim it is a pest to grow, lacking vigour and yield and that if you do hit it with pollen, even from a good stable male the offspring will have a lot of variation indicating the cutting itself maybe a hybrid (despite the supposed lack of vigour). I have also heard disparaging comments as to it's pure indica nature, DutchFlowers reported Sativa phenotypes in offspring in a breeding programme. All of this is heresay though as I've never touched had myth in my GR, stashbox yes, GR no]

I lived in Mississippi back then, right across the lake.
