Accurate as in addmission to colleges, and well maybe not to ivy league schools, but to other schools they make a difference.

But that's the absurdity - they don't predict success in a college environment which is supposed to be there objective. Which is precisely why the best of the best don't use them to influence admission. Maybe the less elite schools will eventually come around to their senses. It's only a matter of time really.

With all the ACT prep guides, study aids, etc. out there (which I think are stupid to begin with), I just don't get it.

Took it once, got a 34.
I think I got a 19 the first time and a 22 the second. This was a good six years or so ago.

I was never a good test taker. I took the prep course. I studied. I tried.

Some subjects I was better at than others. I didn't care a whole lot but it did upset me a bit.

I could never understand why someone would want to be an accountant when they could be an artist. ()

Point is, people are better at different things. To act like this is a great mystery or that people are stupid because of a number is, well, kind of silly.

omg, most of you guys have hella good scores. where i'm from, the education SUCKS, so it's nearly impossible to get past a 1800/2400.

the highest score i've ever heard from my ghetto-ass high school is a 1980. hahhaa.

mine was 1780, the second try.

I go to Carolina. Word.

Took the SAT once:
Verbal - 760
Math - 760
Writing - 680

THAT helped with the apply-for-college stuff. I feel like a dick whenever I talk about the score though.
