New manager at work...
So we got a new boss at work and in our freekin first meeting he started being like "they call me mr work-hard & late-hrs" and other shit like "one mistake you get a yellow card, two mistakes you re out" and other corporate bullshit.
Now this was really annoying to hear, because i ve been with this company for almost 8 years and the only reason i keep working there is for the relaxed atmosphere and no real pressure from the bosses (just from the clients but thats ok). We have kept all our clients very happy, considering this company is SO disorganized. No big salaries or anything, but we could always skip work and go for coffees or to bullshit around. That made up for the low salaries. But this guy is appointed by the top management (with a 6 figure salary) and he thinks that just because he makes alot of money and he's got a cucumber up his ass (from the CEO's) to bring results, that we gonna start working our ass off, because he says so. homie dont play that! After he was done with his "i am mr big time executive" speech my teamleader asks him something (this lady is really cool and has been working almost 20 years in this corporation) and he answers back to her "no we wont do that missy" Missy??? whotf does he think he is?all of a sudden alarms started ringing in my head. I dont have a good gut feeling for this guy. He doesnt get the fact that if we wanted to work that hard, we wouldnt be in this company in the first place, but prolly somewhere else making real money not basic corporate salary i m thinking about going to a another dept, cause this guy seems like a douche what do u think? |

thats a shitty situation. maybe talk to his boss or your old boss or someone in management to see if you can work for someone else doing what you were doing before (because you seem to have handled it fine).
start sending out resumes too

It sounds like he won't last for long if he's already pissed off the regulars by the end of the first meeting. I'd say give him a chance and a little time to change his ways. If he hasn't after a couple weeks/months, go ahead and see if you can switch departments.
From what I gather, he won't be too popular with his subordinates, so just make sure you stay off his radar. Managers suck. |

She just continues to argue like she enjoys it in a sick way. The wiatress can hang out and bullshit if its a slow night. God forbid if I take a reast she is on my ass do this do this and this.

This one old haggard bitch (used to drive a bus) where I worked yells at you even when she's not in charge.
I'm spraying sanitizer on food trays to wash them off. "Watch where you spray that, there's food products in here". (The only food is all the way across the room, still vacuum sealed in plastic.) "It's sealed in plastic" "Excuse me, sanitizer is a chemical it goes through plastic."

I had a similiar situation. Pete gives the best advice, let the guy dig his own hole. If he starts stepping on your toes, just suck it up for now. I worked for a company that had the same relaxed atmosphere and was the reason any of us worked there. They brought in a manager who liked to manage like Hitler and the guy ended up getting canned within 3 weeks.

If I was in your position I'd stick it out and see how it goes. If I couldn't stand working there anymore I'd leave ASAP. He is probably just trying to make the strongest impression possible since he is new there and won't be as rough on you as he makes it out to be.

went to the boss above the douche to talk and see if i could get my clients back (the ones that i ve worked hard for the past years).
I thought this guy (the head manager) was my friend, but apparently in the corporate world, real friends are rare. The guy starts giving me the same manager talk bullshit "blah blah blah, i cant do anything, if you want to work hard you can do it with new accounts, my hands are tight" and finally he gives me the final if u dont like it no one is forcing to stay.... oh that pissed me me off fuck these corporate douchebags. They are so afraid of loosing their positions from people underneath them, that they do whatever they can to keep the good employees as low as possible. Only the robots/kissassers and snitches climb the corporate ladder. Fuck that. Two faced assholes. I m trying to jump to a different dept or leave this company. The only way to progress is to have your own business. When your job, promotion or salary depends on another person, dont expect your work or character to be appreciated ![]() |

^ being self employed ain't any better than having a 'cushty full-time job'.
Try getting yourself head hunted by the competition, or get the fuck out of the corperate bullshit world. Learn a skill / trade, become a specialist in some area and you are garuanteed a good job with the respect that you deserve. |

No harm testing the waters for other companies, get an offer, then you have 'options'. Options are something that can make you very happy, go find some.

i have to congratulate you because you have a lot more self-discipline than i do. if am told by a boss something as disrespectful as "nobody is forcing you to stay," it wouldn't take me more than 1 second to quit just so he would look like an asshole to my coworkers.
as an unhappy employee i am: constantly late, slacking off all day, taking longer breaks, thinking about quitting and probably in a bad mood all day.

Best of luck, I'm sure life is just trying to pull you away from a shitty company anyways though. ![]()
