Bye, I'm going to Europe.

So tomorrow my family will be leaving for Europe, and we'll be going to four different countries over the course of a month. I'm really high/paranoid right now, so I don't want to say exactly which countries, but I will mention Italy, where we'll be staying for about two weeks. Gonna see Venice, Tuscany, everything. I'm fucking psyched. Also, I'm old enough to legally drink in all of them, so that's going to be fun.

Several of the countries aren't very tourist friendly, so I'm going to try to look as European and act as un-American as possible. That means stylish clothes, no shirts w/ English writing, and I've been trying to learn some basics for all of the different languages I'm going to be hearing

Anyone have any suggestions on things to see other than the main tourist attractions in Italy?

Italy was one of the best experiences of my life

do whatever you can to see the southern portion of it... Sorrento / Capri was absolutely my favorite part of the whole trip...

it's not for sight-seeing like churches and shit in Rome... it's a tropical fucking paradise that you have to visit... huge mountains, crystal clear water... hot italian bitches who are half naked... great food and popping night life.... fucking amazing d00d.. Capri has this boat-tour that they take you on.... they sail around the whole island and also walk around it and show you the different sights.... but the boat ride around the island was fucking sweet.

PS good luck trying to score out there... i must have mumbled 'fumar marijuana' to 100 different people i walked past in Sorrento and couldn't find shit... it's a dry ass town... shame, too.. because seeing something as beautifull as that place with a nice fat blunt would have been fucking amazing

No wonder you didn't score, bro. Fumar is spanish, and marijuana is english. Two completely different languages in one phrase. Maybe if you were in Spain or Mexico would 'Fumas mota?' (I believe that's the correct verb, confirmation please)

Man, you're going to love it. If you haven't been to Europe before open your eyes as a much as possible to see the beauty of it all. Check out the Salvador Dali gallery in Venice, eat as much Italian pizza as possible, and remember to stay up into the later hours and take a walk at night, it will trip you out (without the aid of drugs)

Hehehe, yeah. Lots of Europeans wear shirts with things in English written on them, I'd see them all over the place in Germany. Lots of Germans even do their graffitti in English. "Fuck you" is considered much hipper than "verpiss dich."

I always thought a lot of Americans were too preoccupied with the existence of anti-Americanism elsewhere in the world. Yeah it's there, yeah some people won't like you just because you're American, who cares? Obviously you'd want to avoid countries we recently bombed (which I must admit is a significant list), but aside from that, who cares? So people'll give you cold stares and try to add an extra 50 cents to your bill at a restaurant--never bothered me much.

Anyways, have fun in Italy and your three undisclosed locations. I've successfully scored in a good number of the countries I've been to, if you'd disclosed the three maybe I could've given you some tips.

Marijuana is no more spanish than "nacho" or "chimichanga." Its exact etymology is unclear, but most people think it's either a combination of two common Mexican names (Maria and Juana) or the word "mariguano" which means intoxicant.

But surf and smoke is right, marijuana is pretty much as universal as Coca-cola, bomb, and pussy. Says something about us, eh?
