I'm a taste tester for the Massengil Douche Company.

When I'm not doing that, I'm a mechanical design engineer.

I work for a rubber company that makes components for medical devices. My responsibilities are vague, but I make pretty okay money.

While being dismissed for cannabis remains theoretical where I work, people have been let go because of meth and alcohol. Their use of these substances had become obvious, to the point where their own friends and co-workers had turned them in. In both cases these people were seen using DURING WORK. In both cases PAID treatment was offered as a condition of their continued employment. In both cases it was refused.
some people would be surprised what some companies are willing to do to help their employees that have substance abuse problems

^^ my workplace would go to great lengths to help with recovery etc. however, the key word would be "abuse" of the substance.

that is surprising. i know if i showed up to my job drunk or high i would be instantly fired and possibly have charges brought up against me (child endangerment).

I guess that makes up for the fact that you don't pay any income tax.

Quality control technician for a food processing manufacturer, affiliated with the US Dept of Agriculture.

I make audits and quality control inspections on product and on the facility itself. If I don't like what I see, I cease production.

Contemplating college...
