metallica is teh yawnfest. IMO they went from boring thrash metal to boring grunge metal to boring nu-metal.

Hmmm...
AJFA is arguably the worst mixed album of all time. It should of been remastered a LOOOOOOONNNNG time ago.

I'd say 'Puppets' is my favorite.

They, (James and Rob) say Rick Rubin has told them to write the new album in the vein of 'Puppets'. We'll see. A lot of that album was inspired by things that happened in James life a few years before it was released in 1986.

After hearing these guys...
MySpace.com - EVILE - Debut out Aug 27th/Sep25th - Huddersfield, UK - Thrash / Metal - www.myspace.com/evileuk
they better record with their 'A game' for sure.

Old-school Metallica is lovely, especially Whiplash. However I think you can attribute a lot of that class to Dave Mustaine, since after he left the band's material got steadily worse until... well, I need not say the name, but you know the album I'm thinking of. Metallica's greatest contribution to metal was driving Dave to create the single greatest thrash metal band of all time.

htam: Evile are awesome! I've seen them live twice. They're great lads and are really making it with an old-school sound. I just hope their first album is as strong as the Hell Demo. Of-course the UK Thrash scene is pretty strong right now, with Evile and SSS getting signed to Earache, and with bands like Gama Bomb (so awesome) and Mutant close behind.

I was 4 years old. I had blonde hair down to my lower back. My older brother taught me how to headbang to "Holier than thou" and "Master of puppets." haha! Good times.

I still listen to them all the time. Especially when I am cleaning the house. Good jammin' music.
