Grinders vs. Manual

personally I have a grinder with a kief (sp?) tray at the bottom layer. it's a space case, so it was more expensive than the average grinder, but well worth it in my opinion.

who elses uses grinders? (as I use mine religiously)

I know there's those out there that still break their weed up by hand (archaic) but I know there's some difference.

I know lots of scissors users and a lot of "by hand" smokers. let's see where the difference is.

I'd use a grinder if I had one, but the good ones can be expensive(I'm dirt poor so $30 is expensive) and when I do have enough money I don't have any weed and I always end up buying weed instead of a grinder.

So I break it up by hand, and it works pretty well. As I said, I'd prefer a grinder though.

i've been using electric grinders since i was like 6 yrs old. hahaha. well, 14 anyway, hahaha. my first one was a braun coffee grinder i found in the back of a cupboard at my house when i was 13 or 14. it looked like it had been used to grind coffee maybe 1 or 2 times, and looked like it hadn't been used in like 8 years or so.. so i cleaned it up a bit [didn't take much effort or time at all] and used it until sparks started coming from the cable. then i got one of those electric "Herb Grinder"s. it feels more powerful than the brauns [surprisingly] and the blades are off set, so it grinds nice and evenly.

nice. I've known people that used coffee grinders. mine is a space case, and for the small version it was $50. kinda steep, but it's paid itself off by far in the 4ish years I've owned it.

i just paid 25$ for mine. i think it fits more than my braun did too. i saw some nice looking cuisinart ones for like $20, they look really nice,

theyre definitely the way to go especially when rolling joints, i must get a new one soon.

I own a grassleaf grinder, its like a spacecase only it doesnt cost +$40 (only 16), i also keep my bud in a box with a mesh base 1cm above a black base, this also collects crystals.

When I was breaking it up by hand it usually took longer and I didn't get any home pressed hash either.

I just found a graduation check I got from my aunt that I got 6 months ago for 100 bucks... so I'm gonna try and pick up one of these.

scissors grind it up the best imo, i usually start by breaking it up into little chunks with my hands, take out stems/ rare seed, add tobacco, then i just start snipping at the pile until it has the consistency of a fine powder.

finely ground weed = lots of surface area = more weed burning when you take a hit = potent, milky smoke that will put you on your ass. you go through the weed a bit faster, but you get a noticeable effect after each toke, and you consume pretty much the same amount any way if you use a bowl and cap after each toke. i hate weak hits, break that shit up till you cant break it up anymore.

I have one of those and it's pretty bad ass. It pretty well but you have to break up your weed, pre-grinding. Not like totally just you know take out the stems like usual and then break up the nug a little. because it doesn't have a really big capacity. The screen is really fine, so you don't end up wasting any weed either.
It's a good buy, I have mine for like 2 years now and it hasn't fucked me over once.

EDIT: sorry bout all the fucked up grammar and shit, but i just smoked a blunt, and I'm to lazy to fix it, even tho this probably is taking more energy....

Grinder w/ kief catcher all the way. Faster, more convenient as I can store my bud in the different compartments and then just take a pinch when I need it, & much finer breakage for rolling/good bowl packs. I just can't believe I waited so long to get one!
Plus, nothing beats kiefing up a bowl when you're a bit low on tree and still getting fucked
