I understand irony fine, but if you think this story is ironic I don't think you do. A cop joking about you having good weed and liking beer is not ironic.

I don't have respect for all cops either, but you guys put yourself in a position where it was easy to get caught. They were doing their job stopping you, you don't have a right to be out on the road after drinking while smoking weed.

^^ I see your point(s).

The irony lays in the fact that they were not only telling me not to smoke weed, but also ticketing me for having some while talking about smoking it... You're right, that I don't have the right to do what I did; however I can casually point of the hypocritical nature of the law and those who enforce it

And I see yours sir.

I think we can all agree that (many) cops, and the marijuana laws in this country, suck.

Meh, I've heard cops say the strangest things. You know that line "prepare to get fucked by the long dick of the law?" A cop actually used that on a friend of mine after he took him in for DWI, I was standing outside the room (I'd been in the car and was tipsy, so they wouldn't let me drive away) and I wasn't sure whether to laugh or think "wow, what a prick."

I got taken in for smoking in public three years ago, similar situation to this kid actually, we were in a parked car smoking and a cop rolled up. One of the guys in the car has a lot of dimes bagged up so they took us all in and put us in the holding cells for a few hours before deciding to let us go. When they let us out and gave me my backpack back, I looked through it and said, "awwww, I guess you found my blunt." One of the cops said, "Yeah, that was some pretty good shit."

Cops are people too. And 80% (in my estimation) become cops for the perceived notion of power. So conversely, unless you live in the land of Fiction... don't underestimate what a cop (person) will say or do.

LoL. I think its better for a bent cop do you wrong and jack yo ass.. Then a straight cop who does the right thing and haul your ass to jail.

Now, the definition of the right thing is up to debate.

Unfortunately book smarts do not equate common sense. Not saying you do or don't have common sense, that's just the rule.

Funny, I was in the exact situation you were in HighDry last summer (except in a church parking lot) we were pulled over with numerous drug paraphernalia and open alcohol.

The officers told us they were looking for the bad guys, commented on how blitzed I was, then told us to have a nice night.

Your story, opposite ending.

the point is sometimes you can't expect the unexpected. Live and learn seems some people don't grasp it but it's ok eventually you will.

I agree 100%. I've never been 1 to have a lot of 'book smarts', but I have a LOT of common sense. bongsmilie
I've always said that 'street smarts' [common sense] will get 1 further in life than a bunch of 'book knowledge'....especi ally when looking for work.
Unless you're going for a college degree in law, medicine, engineering, etc....but a bunch of memorizing facts & figures won't get you shit. In this day & age, it's all WHO you know & not WHAT you know.

Good luck with that. As the competition for jobs becomes international (it already is) it is people like you that will be left behind. The day of the entrepreneurial American is fast disappearing to. You want to be a lawyer or the guy who fixes the lawyers toilet? Besides memorizing is good for your brain.

So they took my gear, but I was able to hide my favorite pipe and it didn't get taken so I've nicknamed it "survivor" (I don't typically name my pipes : P) . They also dumped out all my beer, or rather they made my friend do it because they, "can't stand to dump out fresh beers"...

The whole thing was ironically tragic.. But I just told them that since they took my vape, I was going to have to smoke unhealthy as I laughed.

I'm 21 and In Colorado so I figure there will be a fine.. I hope thats all it is.
I was pulled over once... maybe twice... One time I had a hlf of tex-mex the other was skunk #1.... The skunk #1 never showed on any paperwork or as evidence... Come to think of it... Good for me, and I thank those PIGS!! I would have had at least 2 more charges including intent to distribute if they didnt take the goods!

Win some.. loose some... It was going to be gone anyway, better it not be used against me!

Dude man, my days of working are history. I worked in the newspaper industry for 20 years & then had 12 rental properties going...& I sold them all for enough $$$ to pay-off my mortgage, live on a golf course, travel, & basically enjoy my retirement.
The days of the entrepreneurial American IS fast disappearing. I got in & got out in the nick of time. Good luck to YOU, young'un!! bongsmilie
