If you don't want to carry a pistol or a big knife for legal reasons, one good choice is a hankerchief or bandana tied to a big padlock. You knot it right and it'll come undone when you pull on it, so it's not a weapon anymore if a cop stops you. You can crack a skull with it easily, swing at the body unless you're trying to kill someone.

I have the ultimate theft repellent in my room, a Ruger black hawk .357 magnum. I have it loaded with cop killers, not that I would ever fire at a cop, but those fuckers will blow a arm off. Any big caliber pistol is my weapon of choice.

1 up^^ i wouldnt take that old cowboy gun to a firefight even against another pistol, say a Glock. You got 5-6 he's got 17 or more and can rip those off fast as hell. Although if you hit'em with that .357 he aint getting up.
