whats the average age of a dog when he dies of old age??i seriously want ,to know before I adopt a mutt....so many dogs get neglected, its sad...be prepared to take on massive animals, but the house i'm renting a room won't let me adopt an animall...sad cause I need a constant compaion, maybe i'll get a bone thin dumpster diving dog, they haven't beeh domesticated, those

feral animals. I was told by the club that to join you have to have his papers

to take part in any events, or even join! poor mutts get treated like 2nd class citizens of the dog worldll

I don't think you should get a dog, honestly.
You need to sort out your own shit before attempting to care for a dog.
People should need a license to buy and own a dog.
Small dogs live til around 14-15. Large dogs closer to 12 years.

I would suggest being careful when you run your dog on cement cause, just like you and me, it's not built to run on cement. You need pads on your foot, it probably does too. he's better off being run in grass, etc. Gauge your dog's pace, watch if he's getting tired, etc. Build his stamina up slowly, then gradually bike a little faster and a little longer. Your dog can easily run 5 to 7 miles with you, no problem. And, watch how hot it is outside.

And, he might run ahead of you when you slow down, just cause he thinks you're going to stop. He wants to keep going. He's having fun. I'll bet if you slow down for a while, and just keep going at that pace, nad keep doing this, he'll learn that you aren't quitting, and learning that you are actually "mixing the pace up". After a while, he'll get used to the "run", to the differences in pace, etc.

I guess i would also say don't listen to anyone on Yahooka. What do we know about dogs and biking? I wouldn't trust most of what you hear, unfortunately. Lots of people who don't know what they are talking about giving you their OPINIONS. Look the info up on the Internet, somewhere. But, anybody who says just walk your dog, that isn't going to help him/her.

true ^^^^^^^^ what he said about the running part anywayz, i grew up raising Austrailian Shepards (i had 5 of them as a child, into my teens) they instinctively need to 'herd' something, usually ranchers use them on the farm...but they are GREAT companions...and they love to run at full speed..., i had one, never on a leash, but she had access to the garage via the backyard, she was the most loving, kindest animal on earth, untill you threatened me or my family, they are good body guards..my dad has 2 FULL GROWN purebred German Shepards, like the police dogs, they are huge, and smart as a whip...being disabled now, i could use one for protection, either that or my glock 9mm, but that gun usually puts you in jail if not used for legitamate self defense...

money has little to do with it. if you have too many issues in your life you're not going to be able to provide a dog with adequate love and care so that he/she will be able to live a happy life. you won't enjoy the dog as much either unless you're able to enjoy life without the dog (imho).

p.s. what use for a gun could you possibly have other than legitimate self defense?

He may not have been directly saying it to you, but I'll go ahead and direct it towards you right now.

NOTHING you have posted shows that you have little ability to care for another living thing, especially a dog.

If you're going to point out your living situation...lets clarify. RIGHT NOW are you living in your fat ass home with all the money in the world (which btw no one is impressed)? AND these people waiting to die live with you in said "fat ass house"? Hm? If it's no, then you DON'T "got a fat ass house". I don't care who owns it right now or that you're going to get it when so and so dies...

Someone's shit is sorted out, just not yours no matter how hard you try and convince others.

Settle down. I know all about animals HELPING others, handicapped and special needs people especially. My post was in regards TO YOU HAVING A DOG AS A PERSONAL PET. Follow along. I can't stress that enough. FOLLOW ALONG.

**Sigh**... no where did I call you any names or "put you down". Relax and re-read without being all hostile like.

If me saying that from everything i've read...from your million blogs, to your posts in the forums, that I don't think you're responsible enough to take care of a dog, is going to make you feel "put down", I'm not the one with the issue.

haha whatever, i guess now having "a million blogs"(50)is bad eh?thats the way i can help remember what i do from day to day, and whatever you think, i'm definitely responsible to care for 1 animal....and yes, the way you came across in your msgs. def. sounded like you were putting me down....when i first logged on here, EVERYONE called me a liar (save the few who were wise enough to get to know me better b4 judging me) i lost my left side of my body,(partially) and i dont think that would get in the way of feeding, loving, (mutual, as thats the whole idea of having a dog) and caring for said animal...hell, i live DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET from a park..so it would be beneficial to both myself (excercise) and the animal (exercise as well)..but the point is moot because im not allowed to have a dog anyways in the rest home i reside at...

^^ true. i agree, money has nothing to do w/ it. i know a homeless guy that owns a dog, and he always gets the dog something to eat before he eats himself, not to mention he spends more time w/ the dog than many other people spend w/ thier animals.

however, i think since you are disabled, a dog (especially a shepherd, since they are so smart and easily trained) could do A LOT of good for you. If you have trouble doing certain chores, or even daily routines, a dog could be a good help. Also for the security factor.

P.S. a sweet little trick i taught my shepherd is to open the fridge and get me a beer, as long as they have beer jerseys on them, so he can hold them comfortably in his mouth. again... could be a big help.

I dont recall her saying having blogs was bad. just because you dont like what someone says, doesnt mean they are trying to be mean. its called reality, and they are just explaining thier feelings. one thing living in a fucked up family taught me was that you cant take to heart what people say, because then you respond to them w/ negative emotions, and an defensive wall is put in place, which makes both sides unreachable by the opposite person.

no anita, its just in other forums, when she has the opportunity to put me down, she jumped on it a.s.a.p., and when i pvt. message her asking for the reason she was being so judgmental towards me, w/out even 1/2 getting a chance to know me, she never replied...she posted a msg. sarcastically saying that i have a million blogs...thats what their there 4 right?and believe me, i am not a member of this site to start shit, or be mean..i joined to learn about m.j, and make friends..i have already achieved both goals, so i'm satisfied..
