Aching to do something
Anyone ever experience this?
Last night I was watching E.T. with my pops, and after the movie, as I do with every movie I watch, I went to the Special Features menu and checked it out.
As I was watching the "Making Of" featurette, I actually began to ache with a desire to make movies.
I'd never experienced something like that before. It was so weird.
I've wanted to direct/write films for a long time, but it's never hit me before like that. I started feeling that I was in the wrong major and that my life is incomplete unless I do this.
I'd always felt it just as a passing interest until last night, now I'm looking at film schools and whatnot. Very odd experience indeed.

I went to Film School. I should just give my degree to you, because I have never used it. UCLA, USC, NYU and Boston U. all have top notch film schools. Lucas and Spielberg went to UCLA and USC, I believe.

Ah ET. I remember my dad took me to see it in the theaters. In the begining, right before they find ET out back, and Elliot says, "it was nothing like that penis breath!" and I toooottally cracked up and was like..."lol...peanut s breath...!" Yeah, didn't realize it was "penis breath" until I was much older.

Not especially. That is to say, I enjoy it, and it is a great movie, but it's nowhere near my favorite films. It was just seeing the behind-the-scenes processes that triggered it I think.

Aye my brother goes to USC Med School and he was telling me I should go there for the School of Cinematic Arts. It's where I'd like to go, but it's also like the Harvard of film schools.
Where did you go, might I ask, and would you recommend it? You can PM if you're more comfortable with that.

I wish I had a calling and not just an aptitude.

I know what you mean. My only gift was that I was born with a huge penis, and I'm pretty much useless if I'm not pleasing women.
