What's some dorky stuff about you??

Come on yahooka. Let's stop the e-posturing and admit some dorky tidbits about ourselves.

I, for one, can play the glockenspiel.
Also, I could probably wreck anyone anywhere at Law & Order trivia.

Posting here and my internet obsession is by far the dorkiest thing I do.

And I'm dorky irl, i say and do goofy things while appearing to take myself 100% seriously.

While I watch the ball game, it's come to my attention that I'm kinda a nerdgirl about my baseball. But gramps was a halloffamer ump. I can't help it.
Hmm nerdy. Lessee.
Dorky. I read the Times, the Economist, Nat Geo, and some art mags nearly every week in the library.

I have an alphabetized & chronological CD collection with way too many CD's. Same goes for DVDs.

I read a lot. Books, newspapers, magazines or internet shit, doesn't really matter.

I genuinely enjoy learning, about anything.

I have roughly 90 GB of music, all rather meticulously organized. Every album has the year it came out on both the folder and the mp3 tag. That's like 1300 albums give or take a few either way. Took me hours upon hours to do that. I suppose having that many albums is also rather dorky. I get good natured teasing about being kinda anal about how my music is organized, but I dunno, makes sense to me with so much music and it keeps it chronological which is how I want and like it and goddamn that is kinda dorky.

I also have a real good memory so I remember a lot of real dumb things from whenever I read about something and wind up getting teased about that as well.

Also I get genuinely happy just going into a record store and just flipping through records. When I get to go in there with my lady it gets even worse.

Speaking of such I'm admittedly a little sappy with regards to girlfriends. Not in a bad way though I don't think, at least no one has complained yet.

I'm far too intelligent and educated for my own good.
I can play the tuba and the recorder (medieval music).
I'll read anything that isn't nailed down.

It's mildly disturbing to think reading is considered dorky.

I'm glad to see this topic. This is often advice or expression that leaves my mouth. 'We're all dorks in someway about something.'

I think I'm a plant geek for sure. My family photo album is full of me touching a plant and talking about it. So I think that makes it bonefide. There is no place I am happy more centred and my best self as when I'm in the garden on my knees pulling or planting something.

what is dorkiness to you? To me it seems like something of little or no use to the general public.

I know too much about certain bands.
I like to read religious, spiritual texts more than any other books.
I fear I tread the line with cat person. Although none of them have clothes, or ever will.
Will risk being weird to be honest with people.

SageTree

Hmm, let's see....

I love Star Trek in all it's forms (anxiously awaiting the new mmo Star Trek Online!)

I have 2 full sleeve tattoos comprising some 120+ seperate images...all of them except 2 are Dungeons and Dragons related, the other 2 are from comic books.

I collect foreign coins..i"m not rabid about it, but when I lived in Toronto I used to come across foreign money all the time so I just started hanging onto it.

I played the baritone horn all through junior high...haven't played in years but I could probably pick it back up in no time.

I can spell better than most people I know, maybe all of them.

I have an excellent memory when it comes to numbers, but I'm not so great at math, go figure.

I'm sure there's more than that, but it escapes me at the moment...I'll update as my memory fills me in :P

There was no computer involved, no mixing, just tracking on a 4 track cassette recorder...Just drums, guitar and bass...
