The Gov and I

Wanted to give you a little history on the Governor and I, how we met, etc. I got involved in the movement when I read a letter to the editor written by a gent who has a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He stated we need consistent laws in this country, especially drug laws. He also authored the Colorado Hemp Initiative Project of which I became a petitioner for. I was pretty ignorant at that time of why cannabis is illegal. I got turned on to Jack Herer's book and became outraged enough to join forces. I was in for a real rude awakening. People calling me names and throwing things at me was commonplace. We had two major opponents. Law enforcement agents tried to stop us at every turn. That was to be expected. The other opponent was the local gangs, who would stand around our booth and deter people away from signing the petitions. Drug dealers don't want it legal either. I still collected over 600 signatures, but, of course, we didn't make the ballot. I also spoke at several gatherings. It was a short time after that when I met the Governor. I don't remember exactly how. He had brochures made up at that time which said, "We are going to sell marijuana to your children." In it were some facts about the lies, racism and hypocrisy of how cannabis became illegal and that he was doing "house parties" with hemp products. He then began his monthly rallies at the state capitol building. I became a member of his staff. We had a lot of fun in spite of all the flack we received. There were bands there and people were smoking fairly freely. The Nazi thugs would show up and pass out tickets and video tape the "dangerous criminals" that were participating. I feel all that I have been through is well worth the experience because I know the truth and I do not believe the lies put out by the government and churches. To stand against a wonderful plant is inhumane. To throw people in jail and seize their property for using it is ludicrous. To spend our tax dollars against us is theft. This is why I take a stand in favor of doing away with ALL prohibition. It hasn't worked in 100 years, and never will. Yeah...as far as I remember. We killed a lot of doobies on the capitol steps. Great times!

...and I always have the feeling that I'm just getting started.

Kosh feels humbled to be in the presence of such warriors...

At the end of it all at least you can say you stood for something. Rather than believing in nothing, like so many clones of today, who blindly follow the path of least resistence, you guys at least make an effort to exist for something other than yourselves.

Even if I don't always agree with your tactics...I admire your tenacity,courage and sincerity.

I am no longer in Colorado. We do what we do because we don't like our tax dollars going to persecute people when they don't deserve it. I totally do not agree with ANY of the Amerikkan government's methods regarding hemp and cannabis. So, we have to fight fire with fire. It has taken a long time and been a hard struggle, but the tide is turning. The Amerikkan government is afraid that once people understand they have been lied to about this, then the rest of the dishonesty will show through also. Anyone on this site, and especially this forum has already joined forces with us. Proper education is the answer to the propanganda program. People go into denial and get angry with you when the rude awakening happens. It had to keep going though. The damage is still being done everyday. The damage to our environment in a lot of phases. The damage to our families and friends. Damage being done in the name of justice and righteousness. They very well know that they are unjust and wrong. This is why NO government entity will match Jack Herer's offer of $100,000 to prove him wrong. We are here and always willing to help. It is all a shame that this site and forum have to exist in the first place. Let the truth be known!!

The Gov will always be missed. Ken Gorman was a leader in the fight for the legalization of marijuana.

It is immoral to legislate morality. You have no rights unless you exercise them. A true patriot is always ready to stand up against his own government.
