medical tests
well I had a colonoscopy last month, I'm getting the results for that next week.
I had blood work done a few weeks ago and after I got the results my doc scheduled me for an ultrasound of my abdomen to get a closer look at primarly my liver, and my colon spleen bladder and kidneys.
I'm getting the results for that next week too.
I'm kinda scared and whatnot, but I'm very well aware that I did this to myself (hell I'm still doing it right now drinking as I'm typing this).
My wife's worried, other then that I didn't tell my family or friends, so I just needed to tell someone. I feel better just writing it down knowing someone will read it.

wow, i hope it all works out for the best. it sucks that you drown your worries with alocohol....when your problems may well be caused by the very thing that makes you happy for that short amount of time.
I'm praying for you and yours.

Good luck with healthy results. Only if you want to say why, but I would ask, if this is due inpart to drinking have to considered finding a method or group to quit with. Whatever the case, I hope that you come out well in the end, and that you and your family cope well until then and rejoice after everything comes back better than you thought.

Well how would you weigh those options.
Internal bleeding= Death vs Stop Drinking= New Hobby/Conflict
What's the question you'd like to know about. The way I see it is if there is something at the core of drinking, you should focus on that. Spare yourself. Don't slowly hurt yourself and those who care. I am sadden by the thought of your pain.
I think that the meds are there to help with drinking? Or what is the case there?
First things first what is the question inparticular? What are you wondering?

Thoughts?
Fucking quit.
Watched my aunt die painfully looking nothing like herself. Yellow skin, empty eyes. Hemorrhage and liver/kidney failure aren't cute.
Give your family/friends a break. It was one of the most trying times of my fucking life to go see her every couple days.
Good luck. I pray you'll make the right decision. PM me sometime.

I don't get that, well, I mean I sorta do, but Christ man. I've certainly done way more my fair share of drinking way more than anyone should, but if it came to where you were I'd have put the bottle down.
Then again I've got uncles with cirrhosis and ones that lost their jobs from still being drunk the next morning and failing a breathalyzer, and still continue to drink, so clearly it's not a unique problem.
I do however wish you the best of luck on the results and hope it won't encourage you to continue drinking if they are good. From someone that is at least somewhat familiar with what you're going through, it's time to give it up my friend.

TBH I`m a bit unsure of the wisdom of prescribing floxies for alcohol related issues- I`ve seen floxies and alcohol combine very badly.

There are alot of alternative methods for treating alcohol out there. Vipassana meditation I read about the other day. They had found LSD very effective with treating alcohol problems. And there is something to be said for good old fashioned counseling. Search the internet, BC has alot of good alternative medicine programmes.
I don't know alot about pharmies, but I'm sure that if you feel too fucking weird from them the doctor can give you a lighter dose or something else.
If you had a heart condition you'd likely not think too much of taking a pill, sometimes I think its okay to need a pill. Proza will also asuredly decrease as your handle on the alcohol is stablized.
Try it? I had a really hard spot in life when I was 16. I took an antidepressant for 3-4 months, and I felt really better and made it out just fine. The doctor told me that sometimes the road is just too bumpy to handle. There are 5 major factors of life. \. Right now I think it's safe to suppose you have two of those which are health and family concerns. Job, loss/gain, and Safty/Location are the others I believe. Loss would be suitable to guess too, in the health mortality sense. And you can ponder the last two.
What I'm saying is that you have ALOT of freaking change right now man. It's okay to see what happens with any help you can get and weigh the options out during. Generally speaking pills have a 30% effectiveness and theropy/counseling has a 30% level as well. Combined there is actually a very logical conclusion of 60% sucess in battling problems. Perhaps you'd do well to do the counseling first, because you are throuugh the first set, which is wanting to change. The only way it works, and secondly this would appeal more to your sense of leariness to the pills, if I'm assuming correctly.
Keep us post, we are hear listening. Thanks for sharing with us, you are safe here to tell us anything. May time and effort bring you health.

Thank you all kindly for your replies.
Well I'm drinking again, I guess I'll give this another shot starting tomorow.
The prozac completely was doing the opposite of what it was supposed to be doing, it was making me super sketchy paranoid it felt like coming off of some bad blow. So I saw the doctor again, and he said that maybe the fluoxetine just wasn't agreeing with me and that combined with alcohol withdrawal wasn't a pretty mix.
So he prescribed me 6 (only six pills) of diazepam 10mg which is Valium I believe, to help me go through alcohol withdrawal. He said that it'd be really bad to to mix it with booze so I'll start taking it tomorow as needed.
I just said fuck it and had a drink this morning cause the past 3 days sucked, stress from work, home and family, and to make everything worse I've had this splitting migraine that just wouldn't go away and I've been shitting blood constantly. Like I feel like a bloated baloon, every fart would be a wet bloody squeeker. I think I'm done with the pooping blood for now, I know it wasn't smartest to have a drink today but hey I'm only human and tomorow is another day.
Wish me luck, and thanks all for your kind words of wisdom.

I am worried for you man. I really hope that you find it in yourself to stop drinking. Really I want to recommend finding a group to go to. I know people who for instance have tried the weightwatchers diet, without meetings, to no avail. However once they did the diet and meets they lost all kinds of weight. This is a corney example, but I really think it speaks to the testament of accountability to the group and ourselves. It's a healthy guilt factor to want to be accountable, especially in these circumstances, I'd champion getting some friendly group support. Make sure you drink lots of water, since you are detoxing, this will move it out of your body quickly and won't lag in your brain (migraine).
Take care brother , I'm thinking about you and hoping you find a way to overcome and regain health.
Keep us posted.
Love
Sage

Thanks alot for your support Sage, there's not many groups/meeting on my little island, we have Al-Anon but it's such a small tight community I don't think I want everyone to know I'm an alcoholic, it'll ruin my reputation (which frankly I could care less about) but it'll also ruin my wife's reputation ( and she has a 9 year old son) so I can't go that way.
I'm gonna stop by the pharmacy and grab the valium before I go to work and I'll start taking it tomorow if I feel edgy or something while I'm detoxing.
Thanks again.

Right on man I understand what you are going through. One of my wife's undertakings is studying barriers to healthy outcomes in remote and rural BC. It's a crappy fact of people breaking their confidentiality agreements.
There is a sight called 30days.com , whose main goal is to provide support systems for people who decide to start something new or to quit. Maybe there is a resource there that can talk you through what you're going through.
Much love
Sage
