My cousin needs some good vibes
Last week my cousin Bobby was feeling bad and couldn't eat or poop all week. He went to the hospital after a few days and they gave him some antibiotics and steroids and told him to drink some gatoraid without finding out what was really wrong. Well a couple days after he went back because he still wasn't better and they finally found out that his appendix had burst at the beginning of the week. So he's been in the hospital in Willard for a few days now and he had surgery and was looking like he was getting better but now just today they told his dad that they should make funeral arrangements . They said the fifth day after surgery is a telltale day of if patients make it or not and that will be tuesday. So Bobby just has to sit there thinking about how he might die. He's like my best bud, we've spent so much time doing everything together. Please send a good thought his way.

Jesus man, that's terrible and kinda odd that they wouldn't have figured it out. Really sorry to hear it, wish you and the cousin the best of luck. Vibes on their way.

I think the reason they didn't find it is because he doesn't have health insurance.

i really really hope he gets well soon.
Usually when your apendix needs to be removed, u get serious pains in your stomach (right side). Then you got about 24-48hrs before u get what they call "peritonitis" (an appendix ready to burst) and that can be serious.
A simple red/white blood-cell test, can tell the doctors right away if its an appendix or not. They should have done right away!!! Having or not havin insurance is out of the question if a young mans life is at risk!!!
No excuses for the doctors.

I hope you all find peace with whatever may happen, but hopefully you will be making peace with the scare and not the departure.

oh man thats rough.
my heart goes out to that dude. it's really upsetting, you think that out of everyone in life, health care professionals should be the ones you can rely on. It's scary when even they end up being wrong or slip up.

he's taking it real well, happy to see everyone and smiling a lot. His white blood cell count has gone down and I don't think they should have used the words funeral arrangements.

Thanks to everyone who sent the good vibes... he must be a good receiver of good vibes because the doctor was actually being very serious about his condition and he made it. There were five pockets of infection when they opened him up and they estimated a 30% chance for each that they might return, and the doctor didn't think his weakened body would be able to handle that happening, but it did not. My grandpa who is a retired veterinarian and has seen thousands of corpses said that the peritonitis he saw in Bobby was like what he usually sees in autopsies. Bob lost 30 pounds but still has his life and has moved to South Carolina with his dad in accordance to the plans he had before this incident.

WOW, he did pull through well if that is what the common opinion was of his illness.
I'm really glad to hear he's going down the road alittle easier now.
