Put my Dog with Cancer down

Why are so many dogs getting Cancer nowadays? Cats are getting Feline leukemia and dogs are getting bone and other cancers. this is the second good friend I've had to release from life to alleviate his pain.
Here's a giant Bong Rip for my big boy Shadow.

Very sorry to hear this mang. At least you provided a great life for him, and an end to suffering.

sad. im sure he had a great life, he looks like a handsome canine. we had to put my doggie down back in january she got some sort of disease and got really thin and it was so sad. i still expect to see her in my house from time to time and it sucks

im thinking dog food is probably made from some bad stuff. you keep hearing about all this shit turning up in food for human consumption and just imagine whats getting into dog/cat food. maybe that explains the disease rates

I hear you on the suspicious rates of cancer though. Seems like besides road related deaths, cancers the only other thing that kills dogs

Thanks for the thoughts.

He's the second pet I've had to put down for cancer. My buddy and my neighbour have also had dogs die of Cancer. It seems the rate of disease and cancer is rising in our animals. Shadow had just turned 4 last week. It seems like such a waste. His brother, my other dog Diesel, is devastated and keeps watching the door and yard through the windows. i've had them both since they were puppies.

I'm sorry for your loss, it's only a matter of time it seems, for my dog Sunny. Pure bred miniature schnauzer, she's going to be 13 this year, which is getting pretty far down the line. I remember when I was younger thinking about when she'd get to this point in life, but now that it's happening its just, sad.. "/

losing your beloved dog really sucks. especially to cancer. my one dog had numerous tumors, and it was hard watching her lose so much weight, along with her health and mind.

Although I must say that during her last few days alive, it was like she knew here time was up.
By her wanting to have more distance from me/my family and also just by the way you would look at her and she would look back at you.
i dunno, its really hard to explain, but by feeling that my dog knew her time was up and accepted it before it happened really helped myself to accept it.

I feel you Slunt. Four is so young. I lost a beautiful canine friend a few years back, I still think of her, but it wasn't cancer, our best guess is a stroke, she was 11.
