so me and the wife have been having real tough times financially recently, like it's been rough, after i paid to get my wisdom tooth pulled, and we both paid off all our bills and insured the car, my bank account was cleared out and hers is 2k in the overdraft.

i did start a sweet new job, which pays nicely but we've been expecting to get these cheques in the mail (unemployment insurance, if you get fired / laid off / get your hours cut and quit) for like 1600$ which was gonna be our lifeline to somewhat get back on our feet for now.

but when the goverment called my old job to make sure everything is a-ok the new manager's a fucking miserable indian cunt and LIIED LIIIED LIEEED to them (no clue why we always got along!!) saying how i had plenty of hours and its a real shame that im gone cause she could of really used me.

which is total bs, my hours got cut in half and i would of been getting more on ei so now i dont think im getting the 1600$ or the 275$ a week for the next couple weeks.

its like wtf, the other managers at work are all like wtf too theyre on my side but what's been said has been fkin said and now im fucked. suuure i can go and 'appeal' the decision but fuck appeals never work and shit just doesn't work out for me.

im digging in the couch for change to buy some kraft dinner and a can of corn for supper tonight.

and i was all bummed out about us being broke and stuff, so i wanted to see if i am still eligible for the ei claim and i was, so they let me file 3 reports in one sha-bam. so it went from bad to good! then this cunt just ruined everything for no fking reason like i dont understand why!!

and when i seen her she's all like i like the scam ur trying to pull, and im like wtf what scam u cut my hours go look at the old schedules,and she did and then just went like, oh, well i guess whats been done has been done.srry!

i got denied unemployment because my company used ADP totalsource for their payroll, which means they are technically called the employer. I talked to my hr and the only option other than quitting was to take family leave and not get paid for. i have to be with my with who is pregnant and help her and her disabled mom like three hourse away from where i worked, and neither of us have a car. so not getting paid was not an option, especially considering the people i was living with moved with someone else so i had no place to live.

ADP said that i didn't try to find all my options, etc etc, but my real employer knows i did. Its just a bunch of bullshit tax evasion shit. ADP is a piece of shit and always fucks up everyones checks and holiday pay.

definately appeal, i'm going to. my sister in law did and got hers approved. get copies of the old schedules and appeal.

i got a letter from the owner backing up my story, and the payroll lady.

and i sent my appeal today with the owner's letter and home phone #.

He probably wouldn't hear anything from the gov't until 6 months later, when he's totally bankrupt and out on the streets...

I'm still waiting on child allowance owed to me for the time I spent living on my own when I was underage.

I applied almost a year ago for retroactive payment of 2 years time.

Haven't heard anything yet...

good luck brah alot of us are have those kind of difficulties i got my hours cut down to 40 which sucks because the 20 hours a week i was getting in overtime was what was making my life comfortable and now im making about half as much.

Call your states workforce development and try fighting your employers unless you still work for them. I dont know how it is up north but i know down here WFD sides with the employee 95% of the time.

Most people would hate to do it but you can always try for food stamps or the quest cards if you need that shit for food my parents were having a really hard time back in the late 80 when there was a recession and we had to get food assistance which they thought was embarasing but they had to do iti to feed my brother and sister and be able to make ends meat. Those days are gone and now they are very comfortable not rich but comfortable.

I know it sounds cliche but least you and your lady have your health, shit will get worst before it gets better so just hang in there and think positive brah

so if I understand correctly...

- your hours were cut
- you applied for, and were approved for, EI benefits based on those hours being cut
- your application was then rejected because of your manager telling them something that is directly contradictory to the schedules
- said manager got fired (presumably for incompetence?)

... and you're thinking about NOT appealing? It seems pretty cut and dry. No, you won't get your money today or tomorrow, but no sense not getting it at all. By the sounds of it, as long as you can prove what you're saying (by which I mean, get copies of those old schedules, letters from the managers who supported your position, etc) you're going to win eventually. That's the key to all this, get copies of all the relevant documents or you have nothing to appeal with. Make sure and also keep any correspondence between yourself and EI and your old employer.

My concern would be, wouldn't your EI benefits be decreased or canceled due to you getting a new job? How long were you in between jobs? Or were you always working, just at reduced hours?

If you were working the whole time they might view that favourably. Like, look Mr. Government sir, I have been doing my best to support my family by working as much as I can but they cut my hours, and so according to your EI rules, you ought to pay me, pretty please. If that doesn't work, egg the legislature.

The gov called my work, talked to the bookkeeper lady who backed up my story, read the letter I had attached with my appeal and yesterday in the mail I got a letter saying how I can file my reports now for the last week of june and most of july, that's 2 reports.

So I filed them online and they say I can file the next one this saturday. Usually when you get a piece of paper with your confirmation number saying how you can file your reports it means your good to go. and I've got 2 backed up reports (almost 1000$) and I can file the next one on saturday (around 500$).

But then again I'll believe it when I see it but it all looks ever so promising. Thanks for all the good vibes.
