I Get My Son Back Today!!!
Some of you know that I have been having to deal with Child Protective Services since Feb. I had my son taken from me after my ex beat me and I tested positive for marijuana. Since then I have had only supervised visits once a week. I went to court yesterday and I get my bitty boy back today!! I am so excited. I was so nervous about court yesterday I straight broke out in hives haha. Thank you all for your support in my time of need.

Wow, that's an atrocious thing for the gov (and your ex) to do to you. Best wishes to you and your son

I am so glad to hear your child is back where he belongs, you didn't deserve to suffer through the ordeal of being without him because someone elses morality came into play.
I'm sure your ex spent very little time in jail when compared to the 9 months of pain that he caused you while you were without your son.
Take some comfort in the knowledge that he will have to answer for his actions at some point, whether here or what lies after.

He just turned 1 in September and he has been gone since Feb. I've had visits with him but only once a week and they were supervised so I could never take him anywhere. I was afraid his first morning here he would wake up and sorta freak out because he was in a new place. He woke up, looked around saw me laying next to him and got the biggest smile on his face and lunged toward me.
He's been really clingy and while most parents who have their kids and have never had them taken from them feel irritated by clingy kids I'm loving every min of it. I know (because I have another son) that at some point in time kids become independent and start to push you away and you miss those days when your little ones just wanted to be close to you every possible second. I tell you what, I will appreciate every single moment of my children for the rest of my life. Never in a million years did I ever think they could take my baby because I smoked pot. I was very wrong. I feel like I have been given a chance to love my kids in a way most parents could never imagine.
If any of you have kids do me a favor.... When they are sleeping tonight go sit next to them and watch those beautiful sleeping faces. Think about how you would feel if they were to be taken from you tomorrow. Think of all the regrets you may possibly have. Start tomorrow off as a brand new day....
Play in the dirt....
Tickle them more....
When they tell you about their day, put aside all thoughts of "What's for dinner" "Did I start the washer" "What time is the game on tonight" and hang on their every word....
Feel the power behind giving them a sweet kiss on the forehead....
Tell them you love them every time you look at them....
If they are in their teens tackle them to the ground and give them kisses all over their face like you did when they were toddlers (even better if its in front of their friends haha)....
Bake them cookies just once for breakfast....
Buy them balloons for no other reason than because to a child there is something magical about balloons....
Don't ever miss the chance to show your kids that they are your number one priority....
Don't ever miss a goodnight kiss....
Don't let the little stuff get on your nerves so bad that you yell at them over stupid things....
Basically don't use time or words carelessly because neither can be retrieved (don't know who said that but it is so true especially when it comes to kids).
Much love to ya'll I'm gonna go cuddle with that sweet little boy who is peacefully sleeping in my bed. I'm counting my blessings tonight and hope ya'll do the same

super happy news to read, I loved the part where he woke up next to you & smiled, and the balloons too!
no more bad relationships woman!! your kids will do just great with ya, better off w/ no man at all than a shitty abusive monster!
best wishes in settling back into a sense of normalcy, and enjoying piles of quality time with your boy!
