ADD/bipolar?

I use marijuana to help me with my ADD and my bipolar disorder. Is there anyone else with one or both diseases who does the same? I'd like to share experiences and see if it helps others as much as it helps me.

I use it for ADD just to focus. If I'm doing work its hard for me to study something I'm not interested in for 15+ mins, but when I'm high I can focus better.

i used it cause of that for a long time. i didnt know it was bi polar at the time. but i was using it for sleep problems, anxiety, add, etc... my parents then had me go to a psych for anxiety to get some meds for it and was diagnosed with depression and went to a psych hospital. there they decided it was bi polar.
i just use it for fun now i have meds for the bi polar so not much of a reason now, o well

I bet you could go see a shrink and have them pull another disorder out of their ass. Pretty good chances you would get some hardcore meds

I know my g/f does and i use pot to help me with Depression and Anxiety attacks.

i have ADD, and bipolar has come up (my cuz has it), but i've never been diagnosed. i use pot for recreational purposes, though. i suppose it might affect me possitively in regards to the ADD, but that's not why i used it.

when you are in the depressed phase you need to realize that you will soon be that captain America again. unfortunately Ive come to hate the euphoria and the depression. try smoking on the unset of a mood change, if you can feel it happening. i hate when my thoughts race and i come across as a complete fucktard because i can not finish one sentence before starting another. ask to see a psychiatrist and try out some mood stabilizers. marijuna is a known mood stabilzer, i think.

Yeah I try not to rely on it by any means but I will admit it does help me concintrate on tests and hw. Hw seams like it takes for ever without being lifted. It's just relaxing to do hw and blaze.

^yah before meds if i wasnt high it would take me atleast an hour or so to do homework that takes me a few minutes now. im not saying meds are always the answer but therapy can help alot also. you could try some coping skillls also.

i was diagnosed with adhd and they started speculating that i had anxiety even worse before i stopped going to "couselling". i'm not sure how i feel about any kind of diagnosis. but anyway they had me on welbutrin ritalin concerta and adderall at different times. adderall was effective for getting shit done but i felt uncomfortably anxious on it. now i'm clean and i smoke twice a day and mj is really nice when it comes to following one train of thought through to the end. i clean when i'm high and just generally get shit in order. it also helps me sleep. i can get anxious when i'm high in a bad setting but that's usually when i'm in a group, so i try to stick with solitary smoking. in my opinion it can have a positive effect on some people diagnosed with ad/hd.

note:i've experienced negative effects with excessive amounts

Hey Guys... I am recently diagnosed bipolar, and most likely have some form of ADD as well. I just signed up to these boards yesterday.
