Exclamation fainting/seizure after smoking

Twice, I have fallen out after smoking. I had juvenile epilepsy in the past but haven't had a seizure since 97. Both times I got stoned and started to feel off. I became drowsy, light-headed, hot, and dizzy. Then my ears began to feel weird and almost like the were bleeding even though they weren't. Then I just collapsed. I was semi-conscious, aware of what was happening but couldn't do or say anything. I've never heard of this happening and it's hard to believe it's directly attributed to smoking. I've heard that when you smoke, it depletes your potassium so I figured that might be the reason. Any one have any other suggestions or knowledge about what occured? It'd be much appreciated.

Do you have high anxiety?

When you smoke it lowers your blood sugar a lot. Eat some fresh fruit prior to smoking. Also don't get too high to fast.

Epilepsy may be the cause consult with a doctor

no seizures here, but the shit's definitely made me feel light-headed at times from killing my lungs on monster rips. also, i can recall standing up too fast and getting dizzy after smoking. not much fun, but i don't know how to prevent it.

this has only happened to me once and it was a couple weeks ago. I got really really light headed, starting sweating like crazy, and had a really loud ringing in my ears. I was about to drop to the floor but I somehow made it to the couch before I did. I dont know what the hell does it but its happened to a few friends of mine too

it sounds like a combination of many factors. id say diet, though its probably not the main cause, is probably playing a role. try to keep the sugar intake under control so that your energy level wont be going up and down like a roller coaster all day. the dizziness sweating and ringing in the ears sounds like a blood pressure issue to me. when you get these feelings do you notice tunnel vision or anything?

i wouldnt take herb for granted. some strains can be very "rushy" and can cause some intense somatic effects like what youre describing. from what i read i take it youve smoked twice? the first few times are quite intense, but the intensity will decrease with frequent use.

That could have some truth. It's happened to me before and I have always had low blood pressure.

I've been smoking for 4 years and it never happened to me until this year. The first occasion was about a month ago in the morning. The second occasion was this past friday late at night. I've always been a pretty healthy person. Don't eat much sugar or salt and never any junk food.

get your blood pressure checked, probably the best 1st step to take, that or head over to your neurologist. also, are you sitting down for a while and then you stand up to smoke? i notice that when i sit down then stand and take some tokes i often have to sit down because i get dizzy and my vision goes kinda tunnelish.

do you take any other substances? im curious to find out what causes this, so let me know what your hear!
good luck

(edit: i forgot you mentioned childhood epilepsy, its probably something to do with that. talk to a doc!)

I've always had a relatively low blood pressure but still in healthy range. I had a small problem with xanax for about a year starting the summer of 2007. (which I now highly regret) Like I said the first time was in the morning. I was sitting on a bed smoking a bowl with a friend. I had eaten waffles and honey for breakfast, which is normal for me, and don't remember drinking my usual mug of coffee. I stood up to walk out the door and that's when it happened. After, I drank water and ate a banana. The second time it was about 2 or 3 in the morning, I had 2 beers and a shot of brandy. I was standing in a kitchen smoking a blunt with 3 other people. We had just got done smoking. I was stupid stoned. Then all the symptoms I described in my first post started happening. I realized it asked for some water took maybe a couple swigs and then collapsed. I was fine in a couple seconds. The whole thing lasted maybe a minute. I drank more water afterwards and ate a few slices of canned peaches for some sugar. Both days I had a splitting headache in the left part of my forehead hours before.

Yeh.... I see this happening quite allot in the coffee shops here in Amsterdam. Even seasoned smokers can hit the deck from time to time. (my record is seeing 6 people in 1 night)

The bar tender just makes them a sugar water and they are ok within a few minutes.
