newbie's first grow

hey all, I am pretty new to these forums and wanted to introduce my little girls. they are all bagseed, I have no idea what strain(s).
they are almost two months since germination. one of them got seriously nute burned and we are nursing her back but the rest seem to be doing really well. anyways, here the pics:

the little one in the corner is a late start.

these two I topped yesterday for the first time:

we are using the earth juice organic ferts for all of these.
any setup pointers, etc. would be wonderful. how do they look?

One thing for sure is your room is cleaner than mine.
I'm curious as to which medium you are growing in......

They are under a 400w mh from above and 100w cfl from the side. I have an 8" fan on one end of the closet and a 40" tower fan on the other side for ventilation. the hps conversion bulb is coming in the mail soon

I'll post more pics tomorrow when it's not lights-out.

how far away are they from the light, and how old is the bulb¿ they seem a bit small for being 2 months old. what kind of ratio are you using on your v/p mix¿ none of the plants look unhealthy, but it appears there is a slight waxiness to a couple of them(may just be caused by the flash), that would be a sign of overferting...what nnutes are you using¿

They are about 12" away from the light (tallest) or 15" (smallest). The bulb is new. If they are underdeveloped it's probably because they were like a week late for a pot transplant while I was out of town. The waxy look of the photos is just the weird DV cam that I shot em with. For nutes I am using Earth Juice grow, bloom, catalyst and microblast in the recommended formula on the bottle.

heres some pictures i took today:

Topping is a method to:
A- Lower overall height of mature plant
B- Encourage secondary growth resulting in a larger amount of smaller colas instead of one large one.

It looks like he is going for the B result here.

You can find many a threads dedicated to topping here.

ps, i love the nug chart in the background.... its like encouragement for the plants.

post 4/20 update

Hey all, here's an update now that my babies are into the flowering stages. They are 24 days in today. We lost half of them when it came time for sexing, which is fine by me, the three biggest plants and the one 'special' plant which is a different strain (still unknown) are what we have left

This is the 'untouched' soil plant that was allowed to just grow straight up and not trained or topped.

Same plant, more flowers.

This is the untouched hydro plant, and also a unique strain from the other three (different source, I am very excited about this one).

And the topped plant. This one has also gone through some low stress training.

Closeup of a flower on the same plant.

Group shots.

One of the two mini plants sports visible trichs.
