Ok dudes.

In 10 mins I'm off to the local plant school to buy about 5 pots or such, some lights and soil.

First grow, should be interresting.

I picked up some danish cannabis seeds, called simply Outdoor 2008.

I'll keep you updated.

It's an indoor grow, 6 pots, not really that complicated.. Just to see if I can do this..

Aye I know that most of you are super talented, but I really need some of these things explained to me in my language..

A mate is coming over later, and he's gonna be me little helper..

I think in english, what I'm doing right now is germinating the seeds. Waking them is what I'm doing lol.

Here's a pic of the yet very basic setup. I need a little more cash before I invest in lights and fans and stuff. Which should be next week.

No I don't have it planted yet, they are laying in some toilet paper atm. All moist and good feely.

What would happen if I got busted? I have no idea. I would probably go to jail but I don't know.

There's plastic between that sheet and the floor. I picked it up for tat very reason.

Oh boy oh boy. All nervous and shit.

edit: I've decided not buy weed anymore. That puts me basicly on a break until one of my friends smoke me up, or I harvest my own goods.

Also, this is my plan, to fasten the lamp in the ceiling, enabling me to hoist it up or down on teh plants. I am going to move the shelf that hangs there.

And a fan blowing sweet sweet air..

I like the thought of growing close to the window, for all that fresh fresh air, and morning sun.

Any thouhgts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you have six pots, each will support one plant....and since you should get about 50% females and 50% males, you will end up with 3 plants(females) to grow once the plants have been sexed. One alternative is to plant two plants/seedlings per pot and then when you get males(which you terminate), you should still end up with about 6 plants(females).

Because it is your intention to grow the plants in that corner, you may have problems when you go to sex the plants(reduction in light hours) since they need absolute darkness. In an ideal situation, you would have a closet or large box of some kind and house your plants in there, useing the cracked open window as a means of ventilation for that box.

Normally a good entry level light for indoor horticulture would be the 400watt HPS(high pressure sodium). You will be able to get those in any place which is not the third world. Since you are growing six plants though...you could use 'flouro's' and still have very good results. They do have some advantages and for a beginner much easier to control heat issues for example...because HPS can create heat build up especially in confined spaces(such as a purpose built box)...and if you don't get ventilation sorted out in a small space...it will get too hot with HPS.

So you may be better off, as a beginner to use Flouros. Those enrgy saver bulbs aree easy to buy and cheap too. Bassically you'd just have to decide what wattage you wanted to use. As a guideline...perhaps 200watts of flouros's would give you a good start. Build a box, install a fan etc and your good to go.

- This is my main main concern aswell. I'm yet to figure out something really smart. But I'm thinking about keeping it indica in the future, so a box wouldn't seem to unrealistic.. But it's a problem I'll have to deal with at some point.

How does it effect the plants if they do not get their 12/12 scheduele? I see everyone stressing it in all the guides and such.

I'll go for a 400 wat HPS, it seems resonable, and I think that I know a thing or to about moving heat. Who would ever think that building computers would help in this regard? lol.

I'm not touching flouros, I don't like them after a nasty nasty incident years ago, dear kosh.

But yes, the only real thing I don't feel I have covered completely in terms of knowing what to do, is the 12/12 situation.

And good call kosh, I allready smacked 2 in each pot, bringing me up to a total of 12 possible germinated seeds.. So we'll see.

Like I said in the beginning, I don't except to yield much from this grow. It's all just to get to know the plant, the cyclus, the do's and don'ts.

I don't know nearly as much about growing as others on this board, but from what I've read I've been led to believe that you will need 400-500 watts of HPS lampage for each plant (correct me of I'm wrong). I've also read and heard that using a combination of fluorescent grow lamps (like Grow-Lux) and HPS is even better because you get an even wider spectrum of light.

The lights here seem realllly steep; I'm sure you can find something cheaper.

So with my limited knowledge, I hope I have not just made an ass of myself.

On the other hand, my understanding of and experience with electricity and electrical systems is broad, so if you have any questions or need any help, I would gladly be of service.

I'm planning on buying a kit, and I'm pretty sure that I don't need more than one 400 watt HPS.

The rig I have drawn up just comprises of some simple hoisting device, never in actual touch with the currents.

Hope that made sense..

I'm actually thinking of building 3 sides into the wall, allowing for huge cabinet, that can be provide absolute darkness.

Sounds like the go, not a very hard DIY. Like you said, maybe indica's in the future; but a sativa just needs a bit of training through topping, or LST, or a very short veg.
1x 400 HPS is probably perfect for a beginner who was some brains for 6 plants, heat does become in issue in small spaces tho.
Son T Bulbs seem well reviewed if you have an option.

Yeah man. I thought long and hard about this (literrally and hour), and I've moved the plants, and my bed, to allow for a pretty decent sized grow shed.

I'm thinkin as high as the ceiling allows, 80 cm deep, and around 2 meters wide.

Covered in mylar inside, top fan for exhaust, and 2 bottom holes for air intake. 1 single raisable 400 watt HPS bulb.

Sounds standard, tried and true.

I only wish now I hadn't been so eager and checked my soil. lol.

A 400 is more than adequate for 6 plants, and depending on the strain, up to 2 oz.'s per plant.
Most strains of weed are triggered into blooming by a drop of daily sunlight.When the hours of useful sunlight drop below approx.12-14 hours, the plant is triggered into "thinking" fall and winter are coming and it flowers in an attempt to be fertilized and produce seeds.For the sake of ease, most growers run a blooming schedule of 12 hours light, followed by 12 hours of absolute black.
As to all, I encourage you to "GOOGLE" the word -LUMEN.It will tell you how light energy works and how far useful light is thrown by 400 watts.Since plants tend to grow about a foot a month you may find a need to re-pot those plants in the future, unless you artificially trigger bloom when they are less than 25 cm tall.
