trainwreck
these were some clones i had taken back in feb from a plant that was a few weeks into flower, so it took them awhile to fully revert back into veg. the small one is my mother, the large is about 10 days flowering.
taken on may16 ![]() taken today(the other plant, by the way) ![]() ![]()

yeah, i train the everloving shit out of all of my plants. never top, just bend.
here are some nugshot pics from the lady i took them from. due to issues with being inexperienced with growing in rockwool cubes(along with a tad of misinformative advice) the roots outgrew their cubes and started rotting on me so i had to chop her at about 6 weeks. she still produced buds that were commendable. one person even said they didnt like it because it was almost too strong(was a medical patient). the leaves are crystally as hell, and the nugs are rock friggin hard. ![]() ![]() ![]()

well, ken gorman did not directly make me a caregiver, but a couple years back he met a patient, and that patient went on to become a fellow advocate who i met through a meeting regarding medical marijuana. we got to know each other and he introduced me to a patient who needed a caregiver. ((thanks gov!!))
the medical community round these parts has a lot of reeeeal nice genetics, and we try to help each other out in passing them on. training is easy. super easy. all it involves is pulling a branch and securing it to the side. there are a couple ways of going about it that will yeild you vastly different results with how the plant looks. what i did with the trainwreck was take the plant, pulled it so the meristem was parallel to the soil, and hooked a plastic coated wire around it with the other end hooked to the pot. heres a pic posted in the cx1 thread of an clone of mine i did this to. ![]() when you do it to a plant at a young age they really take off. if youre starting from a seedling, i like to train them a little differently. i made a little writeup of this method while back, so if any information is redundant, i apologise, im just copy and pasting. *ahem the use of lst(low stress training) is a wonderful thing to implement if you are trying to keep the height of the plant to a minimum. it promotes the growth of new nodes on the sidebranches, giving you a large output per small space with a small number of plants. it also helps in producing a symmetrical looking plant, very nice when in its last few weeks of budding. essentially, lst is manually bending and securing the plant so that light gets to the parts of the plant that usually do not see much light, thus vastly increasing its sidegrowth and giving it more of a bushy appearance. there are various ways of going about it, this is how i work with my seedlings. i use a method where as soon as the seedlings get some good sidegrowth happening(after about 3-4 nodes have appeared) ill bend the plant over so the main stem is at a 90º angle, tieing it to the side of the pot. i do that in the morning, let it go all day like that, then about an hour before the lights go out for the day ill let it up, usually have to pull it and tie it so it can stay straight up after being bent all day. the next day, i give the plant a turn, roughly a quarter to a third spin, and repeat. this lets the sidegrowth come in very thick and bushlike. due to bending the plant every day, the main stem tends to get really thick, and the constant turning makes the branches always turn towards the light, making those really thick as well. no writeup like this would be complete withouth pics, of course, so here they are. this is a grapefruit. 21jan ![]() 25jan ![]() 31jan(2 shots) ![]() ![]() feb12 ![]() ![]() bending em around like that really thickens up and strengthens the stem.

week 4. some of the hairs were slightly affected from a pyrethrum bomb that i had to throw down there. of the 4 plants in the room, the trainwreck handled the bombing the best.

Frosty
The metal halides seem to make them trichome up a bit more. Nice going...those crystaline forrests can be mesmerising can't they...esp when you get the little magnifier out. I'd love to get some shots through the lens of a microscope. If you are fussed at all about your pics....useing a tripod esp with macro will ensure nice steady well focused shot. Adjusting shutter speed/apature etc from there can enhance lighting and other effects. A good simple way for primo shots is to set the camera on a table or tripod or books etc...then actuate the camera's timer when you have the shot composed...that way no camea shake when you hit the shutter button. Cause you know how it is...when you hit the shutter button normally...a faint shake or wobble will distort image. The halides are perfect lighting for the pics too.... You wonder if the pistil ratio is a bit low on those specimens? I wonder if that would relate to fertility?
