^^^

soil is a mixture of our house compost with normal potting soil and a solid dash of bat guano.

4 different strains but I've forgotten the 3 and know only one is a bushman cos i grow it every year, it's the best sort for where i am in my opinion.(central europe )

maybe i've posted some more info in the last two years threads.

crowded, what do you mean?
They are all quite a distance apart from each other.

He probably meant that they're quite bushy.

Didn't you have any problems with the cold winter in the last couple of months?

yes and no.
I've got a two nice areas, one walled, one glassed, that i finish them off in the last weeks.
(i try and keep them as dry as possible )

Having said that, budrot can be a problem just before harvest, but that depends more on the plant's buds in my opinion
For example the thicker the buds the greater the chance of "budrot".
It's the combination of thickness, moisture and coldness that is the real danger.
Looking at last years thread i was having problems with on particular strain (LUI) as early as the end of September but only with this strain the other "normal sized" plants/buds had no problems.

As for the bushiness, it's normal isn't it?
In the past i've removed the fan leaves as the buds have grown to give them more light and other years i've done nothing and the plant seems to have dropped it's leaves it self.

Since it would appear that your plants began flowering around mid august, and they are in containers, perhaps you should consider inducing artificial flowering next year and have them finish up a wee bit earlier, before the cold and the damp appear. At the end of July, beginning of August start putting your plants in a garage or dark shed for 12 hours a day. Get the plant started on flowering and then let mother nature finish it off by the end of September.

^Or bring up seedlings or clones of early flowering strains indoors under 24hr intense light, stick them out any time there is no frost, and two months later - harvest.

I love the first pic. A nice squat, typical indica. Is it in a pot? Maybe you like to be able to move them, but I'd say dig good hole, plqace in ground and they will do much better even at this stage.

The wall looks like a nice sun trap. Perfect and by the looks of the plant, plenty of good direct light. If you wern't aware and could be bothered, for next season perhaps - paints are not the same and with paint color charts you can see which have the best reflectivity(ie for dark rooms)...useing that equals very good solar reflectant panel. haha Any increase in light is good...naturally.:le af:

Speaking of bud rot. Its definatly the case that the fatter bud strains are terrible at resisting the rot. Other strains more suited to wet weather lose water like off a ducks back they are so much moreresistent. Obviously with late wet seasonal conditions, either early flowering strains are the one, or those other strains which don't mind wet weather and humidity even. I think one reason some of the wet weather appropriate strains don't have problems with bud rot is that they produce such tight compact bud aswell as oodles of oily resin acting as water proofing.

One other tip regards bud rot - it can be better to top a plant, and tip it a few times even so it gives rise to many more buds sites which are smaller, rather than the typical christmas tree shape plant with one chief cola at the top which is often very fat and a perfect enviornment for rot. Even though tipping will actually thwart light penetration through any canopy produced, its a balance between that and rot. Even though ventilation may even be compromised through a dense canopy, smaller thinner buds are less likely to secumb to the dreaded fungus.

Oh...and clones are more succeptable to fungus and other problems as compared to seedlings.
