LED Grow!

Ok so I have seen questions all over the net about LED's Do they work are they worth the money you spend on them and how effective are LED"S when growing the good old MJ. Do they really save money on electricity. Well here is my answer. I have no clue. So after tons of research and thought I have decided that something needs to be done to answer these questions. These things just need to be known to the marijuana community. I took it upon myself to purchase a set of 4 panels with 225 lights on each in the red and blue spectrums. It costed me less than 150 for the light and shipping. Those will be showing up at my door no later than wed. Until then Here are my two subjects for this experiment. they have finally after 5 days broke the surface and now bask in the sun daily before retiring to a compartment of compact floros. I presume vegg will begin the day I get the lights. take a look at the pics and as the grow goes on feel free to throw in some advice or maybe you even saw something in a pic that needs attention. Like I said feel free to let me know. these two were planted on 04/20/08

What grow medium will you use?

well for this grow I'm using what I know works due to the fact that I used it in the last couple grows. Miracle Grow potting soil. Then I wont have to add any fert till Flowering stage. I'm thinking though im going to make these ladies my mothers. If they are even female. I also went about 50% on perlite for easier access of more oxygen to the roots. I hate this waiting game. The lights arrive wednesday so things should really start picking up then. enjoy.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAY! lol I'm glad you clarified that.Anyone heard the herbal legend of faster growing plants are most likely males? just wondering because last round I did have a male I had to get rid of and it did grow faster than the others under same conditions. I'm noticing one of the plants is taking off and the other is like lagging behind. It did sprout later but looks as if it should be bigger. I'll have pics up tommorow.

i heard somewhere that blueberry only reaches its full potential when its supercropped
or whatever that thing is when you cut the new growth so it creates two colas instead of one

??? Think you could be alittle more specific? Are you talking about topping it? recently over the past few days I have thought about changing the way im going to grow these ladies. I am thinking I am just going to mother them out and start me up a budcycle stand. I'm going to try and make it so I will be harvesting every week or every other week. with this I intend to top them. So if you were insinuating that I should top them good call We are o the same page.

Supercropping is when you stick pins into the stem, or bruise it a bit by pinching it to create cell damage at numerous locations on the plant. Theoretically, the plant becomes stronger, better nutrient transfer after an initial stress setback. I think shaggy is just referring to topping.

Oh the soil thing. yeah when I germinate the seeds I only put like a third of dirt in there for the seedling to take root into. As it sprouts and gets taller I add soil. I guess I do it to kind of limit the amount of stretching as well as promote a stronger as well as wider range of root growth. Also the soil being miracle grow soil, there is already fert in it. So as days go on and as waterings pass more fert will be added for when the plant is bigger and stringer. Just a renewal system I'm tweeking. Good question! Here is how they are doing now. notice soil was added yesterday after the smaller one had stretched out a bit and got taller. If I were to fill the pot and the plant had sprouted it would just keep growing and I would have to resort to a messier and more annoying method of folding and be=urrying the stem anyways. So by doing this I am only excersising my personal method. others do it differently I'm sure.
