bathroom exhaust fan
would the ceiling exhaust fan that keeps your poop smell from overwhelming the room work for a grow room? Or do i need to still buy an squirrel cage and all that stuff? I have a 600 watt mh/hps light that I havent set up yet? thanks for any help..

It'll help, but it'll just pump the smell outside, so any unfriendly noses can drop a dime. If you can't afford anything else, the fan will work for now... but definitely get a carbon air filter ASAP. And if you've got green to spare, get an air ionizer.

You can use a fan from a ceiling exhaust, usually they fit 4" duct.
They won't move as much air as a decent fan designed for horticultural use and they will be noisier and may be less reliable. Having said that, if there is no other air exchange from the grow space this type of fan could be useful. It's not too much more for a decent fan though, especially if you're planning to use a 600w light. Make sue you get one which isn't on a timer.
