I have a different take on this. Hypothetical View:

If the war in Georgia doesn't cool down Russian/American relation could go down the shitter and break out into a full scale World War between the good (USA) and the evil (The Russian Federation) resulting in Nuclear bomb strikes around the world until 2012 when Mother Earth finally implodes or we have a nuclear fallout which in turn creates a runaway freeze killing everyone on Earth just like the Mayans predicted. The way the worlds going now days ANYTHING could happen.

To me thats the most logical explanation of how our world ends, we blow ourselves up.

I go with the x files theory that aliens will invade on December 22, 2012. I'm smoking all kinds of weed before and on the 21st though. I wan't to die happy!

Here's my theory, some of you may share it. Something initially bad is going to happen, some sort of cataclysmic event that will destroy a lot. One of the things to go would be some of our technologies. I'm not sure which ones and to try to predict that would be insane but something will happen to make us look inward for answers. We WILL enter a golden age through this process. Our thirst for knowledge will lead us within ourselves instead of without, as it has for so long. This will, in turn, help us value human life more once we realize we're all connected and, at the core, one. Some of you have described events that would fit perfectly into my theory, such as the pole shift, which scientists say could happen at that particular time due to a cosmic event that happens once every 26,000 years (not positive on the number). The event could possibly cause a magnetic shift inside the earth in turn shifting the poles and destroying a ton of stuff and people in the process. I need to survive seeing as how it's my destiny to lead the people to this new age.

I am not entirely sure about the aliens. I'm sure they exist but I don't know if they have anything to do with 2012. Maybe they teach us how to unlock our inner technologies, I don't know.

I'm leaning on polar shift altough the planet-x thing sounds good too. christmas at my place in montana 2012. Get there before the 21st. Hopefully Yellowstone won't blow her top.

It could just be an extremely minor shift in the planet that wouldn't affect very much on a global scale - but enough to throw off the mayan calander, hence the apparent 'end'.

There are so many things that could possibly come into play. First look to the new European particle excellarator. They say they want to create conditions that would mimic exactly the moment before the big bang. But, I read somewhere, that what they really want to do is create a black hole. Next we have the pole flips, I'm talkin' complete polar reversal. According to scientists, this hasn't occured in 173,000,000 years and right now we are 600,000 years overdue. Nexr you have the Planet Nibru. It's suppose to fly by at about 2012, maybe sooner. NASA veheminately denys that there is any planet coming in our direction. However, what they don't say, is that most planetary systems in our galaxy and throughout the universe are binary star systems, and when they first pointed the Chandra X-Ray Oservatory in the sky they saw something a billion-something away, heading our way and when they checked sometime later it was in the millions heading our way. You can't see it from visible light because it is a brown dwarf star, which too is also common with stars our suns age. At least that is what some scientists say. With the warming of our planet, some methane gas, from dead fish and plant matter will warm up into a gaseous state and kill costal regions, and some big lakes. It goes on and on. I,ve decided to take and wait and see stance. Wake and bake and put it out of my mind. I have enough junk up there anywho.:bigj oint:
