Discovery Channel - First time machine

found this pretty interesting. They're already in the process of building a time machine

I think if it is a successful project they won't announce it to the public. Everyone would want to get their hands on it and shit maybe it could even start a war or something. Its crazy how when it is finished messages could start coming out of it from the future. It would be like a telephone into the future..

Ronald Mallett - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's got some really good analysis of his time machine.

This really gives a good answer to "If there were time machines in the future, wouldn't we be getting tourists from the future?"

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Watch the video/read the link?

Theoretically, you can only begin receiving information from the future after it has been turned on. As of now, it has not been created.

i only have one problem with this "time machine" ...time doesnt exist...it is a preception of reality to make lives easier some people cant envision time and they go crazy all these random events jsut happening...the relative model is perfect and it doesnt need time so yeah its a one way street

I got to thinking, I dont think its possible because the past has already been written you cant change it, and the future doesent exist until it gets here and then its the past and has already been written. on youtube if u type in time machine its the same video but people have a lot of interesting things to say.

it doesn't make any sense. why would someone ever put a message into this thing? Nobody would ever need to if they already got the message in the first place.

If it's for real I'm sure they'll find a practical application for it soon enough.

More than likely a weapon of some sort.

the things that have been possible for decades have been hidden by the gov...
my great-grandfather worked for Lockheed on the Skunkworks Project. my dad asked him if it was possible to 'beam up' like on Star Trek. All he could say was it was classified information, but the things we were capable of would blow his mind. that was over 30 years ago...imagine what we can do now.

edit: as a fun fact, my great-grandfather was the one to discover an obscure mathematical equation (by a then-obscure scientist from Russia, i think) that made the SR-71 non-detectable by radar. he served as mentor to the lead on the project, and was taken out of retirement to work on it.
