since when did humans start riding inside orbs of light?

i think the ancient ufo evidence is more believable than alot of todays sightings because most are hoaxs, back then they didnt know anything about hoaxing a ufo sighting

well in terms of the human in the ball of light, with the amount of personification in ancient mythologies, that could simply be the spirit of a comet or something.

But the other ones are pretty neato.

In a universe as vast as ours, it would be naive to think we are the only living creatures. Whether they're more primitive/advanced...well, my guess is as good as anyones. To say that people in ancient times knew nothing of hoaxes is assuming too much. I'm sure there was at least one smart-ass in the bunch who would go all David Blaine on their asses.

These people were smart enough to build pyramids...I'm pretty sure they weren't that dumb. By ancient standarts, I'd assume they were one of the most educated cultures in their day. Although you're probably right about your latter statement. In those days, a natural phenomenon involving light or the reflection of planets in the atmosphere may have seemed like a UFO.
