Yes. I just graduated. Got a job. Doing well in almost every way. I'm still riding high on my accomplishments.

Setting goals and completeing them. That makes some ppl happy.

I'd say yes, I tend to not wallow in misery as it is stupid and emo.

I am happy because I react in a good way to the many good things in my life at the moment. Those times when I don't feel happy just make me appreciate the times when I am happy.. MORE! In turn.. that makes me happy to know.. which makes me all round even more happy!

yes, i am. it's a decision i make moment by moment. any time i find myself unhappy, i understand that it is also due to a decision and can be easily reversed by adopting the proper perspective.

i have many people in my life who make me smile and laugh and therefore make me happy.
i play tennis often, and that makes me happy.
i spend time with my kids and husband and that makes me happy, too.
eating good food makes me happy, and smoking good weed makes me happy.
having a clean house and car makes me happy, too.
i'm easily happied, i guess.

^You must be pretty depressed if you have to pin your hopes on your next life!?

I am curious as to what people think about this...

Do things (external) make us happy? or do we make ourselves happy as a result of those things? Or is it just semantics again.. hmm?

^Yes ofcourse I am but those are things I can't control and I can't get out of my mind. I've tried councilling (sorry 4 da spelling if they are wrong! but they only made it worse. Maybe its my personality, I dunno. I've learned to live with it though. Weed seems to help a lot.

Regarding next life, I am not pinning any hopes. Even if there is no after life, it dosen't bother me as long as I don't have to relive this life.
So yeah, if there is afterlife then I would like to have some better than now, if there is no afterlife, its all good with me.....

Although to be honest, if nature/god/chance whoever gave me consciousness, it would have been nice if I could have a little more freewill and other ppl as well.

Also ppl tend to say, past is past, look to the future, forget the past. But its much easier said than done espeically in case you had to see many bad things happen in your family and personal life.

I am mostly happy. There are a few things that could easily be changed to make my life more enjoyable though.

I love my kids, my husband, my job and my pets.

I think too much to be happy, I'm only content when I'm busy or drunk. It's not like I try to wallow in it, I just have trouble controlling what's going on in my brain. It's quite annoying--whose brain is it anyway? I should be able to say what goes in there and what doesn't!!!

I personally feel happiness is overrated. It's one emotional state out of many. I feel it's the dynamics of the human condition and all the various states that make this experience so unique and allow us to experience happiness in a very appreciated sense.

Am I happy? I wouldn't say "happy" or "ecstatic" or any of those total epitomic words of the emotion. I'm content.. in the experience I go through in my life I have a good range of emotions. I bounce back and forth a lot between what I feel and for the most part I enjoy it that way.

I do feel that our emotions are dictated by many factors. Not just materialized objects or certain experiences, but by all energy existing in this reality. If energy is the phenomenon that influences the state of any given object or organism then I'd say energy influences our emotional state as well. That form of energy can be almost anything, from other individuals, internal thought processes, objects, circumstance, theories.. etc etc.

Emotion is a funny thing.

i am happy. i can't see myself being any other way. almost 2 years ago now i had some serious health problems that affected my ability to work and go to school. i am still struggling daily with certain aspects of that, but i have more or less adapted to a different way of life. one part of it (migraines) is all but totally gone, and i am pretty much back on track as far as being a totally functional person.

even on a bad day i am thankful for the fact that i am healthy enough to experience a bad day. i take a lot more time to enjoy everything around me and i don't stress about stupid things the way i used too. life is good. just relax and take some deep breaths.

I like this.

I think emotions are electrical signals and nothing more (the ones that tell us "you are happy, sad, whatever." and I strictly apply this to myself). However, I think the experience of being in the woods, camping and watching the stars, is interesting in and of itself. I can't say I'm against feelings then if I'm not against "the feeling of the experience of blah blah balh," but I do think feelings are meaningless. There. Christ, I should be a lawyer.
