Live in a succluded tribe?

I know it's probably not possible, but I've always wanted to go live away from modern society. When I was in public school I did a speach on shrunken heads. When I was doing research I read a little about the tribes that do it, and I kinda felt like I would like to live like that. I realize how odd that is, and I know if I did by some miracle live with a tribe, I would probably kill a lot of them because of diseases, and illnesses that my body carries, that they arent used to. I saw in my local paper how an airplane or anthropolgist or something flew over the huts of a tribe in the amazon, and got picture. the story is here- last uncontacted tribe - Live Search Video

Id like to hear people comments on this, whatever they think, just so I know how weird I really am.

A lot of people seem to have a romantic view of this sort of lifestyle. In reality it would be a brutal, primitive and probably somewhat shorter life than you would otherwise have.

I took a cultural anthropology class a few years ago that explained how some of the more primitive tribes lived, and still live, despite contact with the outside world.

Trust me, as a white girl, you don't want to live with a primitive tribe. You would basically be used for your child bearing abilities, and your household skills. In hunter-gatherer societies women don't have a whole lot of power, especially the younger women. The older matrons may have some sway with their sons who are tribal elders, but younger women are treated like shit.

There are some great monographs about primitive societies, I remember reading one about the Yanomamo tribe in South America that was really interesting. They were very warlike, and their entire society was based on captives and slaves.

Well certainly none of us here would likely feel very happy in a place like that, however I think it is extremely interesting because they show us a bit of who we really are and how our civilized world is the same or different from such [assumed] origins.

How is that different from regular life

but one thing thats wrong with that video or whatever is that its not the last tribe like that, theres quite a few uncontacted tribes. and leave the muthafuckas be, for real.

Well, I'd like to think that at least in North America that we're a bit more civilized and that women hold a much higher status level in our society.

But yes, leave them alone, they deserve to be left alone.

the situation ( status of women) is no different in Poland, and other central/eastern european countries where the church
( catholic and orthodox) are culturally entrenched
