Sleep

If you could put on a hat that let you get 8 hours of equivalent sleep in 30 minutes, would you use it?

Basically what Im asking is would you trade actual sleep for more time during the day.

I know I would. I hate sleep. Or rather I hate the wasted time. Imagine how much more you could accomplish with only 30 min of sleep per night.

there are cases of people who need as little as an hour of sleep a night to function normally. eventually we may evolve beyond the need for sleep as we currently understand the concept.

If anything we'll need more people sleeping a great deal of the time as the population continues to increase and grow in density.

na I like sleep, but only so much of it.

If I could put on a hat where I get 8 hours and only 8 hours of solid, complete sleep, and wake up refreshed that would be best.

i rarely get more than just a few hours, but if i happen to get a few nights in a row with 6+ hours it's amazing how much better my mood, energy, motivation to get things done, are affected.

Ah.

Sleep's the shit, although some days i wish i could achieve eight hours of sleep in 30 mins, mainly weekdays.

i like the feeling of falling asleep and the feeling of waking up, so for me the time spent in the middle seems worth it

I agree with veda. Sleep is such an important role in our lives. Physically say it is achievable to do so(attain 30 minutes of sleep worth 8 hours), your mind/spirit would not get the proper escape from reality we all dwell on.[by we it is meant all living carbon based structures, to avoid the dark and live from the light.]

I find that most of those who abuse substances directly correlates to their sleep or their level of sleep, which then creates a more of a "need" to use that substance over again. Sleep is the necessary escape from reality we are all born with, and once you learn the value of dreams and sleep you can erase substances feelings of "need" to "want".

Think about todays society and the strive for durgs, it is because we are told our dream's have been set to a level of that of santa clause or hopeful fictitious imagination. Hence why ones "goals" or "aspirations" are hand in hand correlated in the english language with "dreams".

Just my personal opinion...

[edit]: I think I'm starting to grasp the idea of higher thoughts more clearly.

NIDA just approved a pill which lets you skip sleep entirely.

Bush has just announced new Drug Law reforms. According to Reports, Sleep will soon be categorised as offence under Class 1. Anybody engaging in this harmful practice shall be jailed for lifetime without bail.

According to NIDA; Sleep makes you lazy and is an "altered state of consciousness" similar to state that drugs including Heroin and Cocain and most evil Marijuana induce hence this new pill has been invented to combat sleep.

Bush has this to say "According to me; ppl who engage in altered state of consciousness including meditation, sleep or drugs are more dangerous to American society than criminals or terrorists and hence we must get rid of these ppl."

NIDA director agrees "Sleep makes you lazy for 8 to 10 hours and is harmul to society and health and productivity".

The new pill will be mandatory to be taken by all people of America each night with dinner.

Time is of no essence in dreams so the limitation in that time would not be a problem.. but really I don't want to be in waking life for that long during the day. We learn more in the land of dreams than we probably realise.. and because of that I think people who have 30 minutes sleep.. regardless of not feeling tired.. will be.. in the end.. fucked up.
