Perceptual change..
When perception changes every other perception of perception of perception of perception... changes. Does this mean what we consider self to be constantly in flux. What does this mean for the objective of knowing oneself?

Self is a complex construct of ideas that you mistake for something tangible. Many of these ideas are constantly changing, and oftentimes, are in conflict with one another. Self, ultimately, is an untenable problem (in terms of making it all make sense with respect to everything that comprises it).

This is why the pursuit of identity is such a major issue for individuals. And you see the conflicts aroused by it in all aspects of our society.
I personally feel that the objective of knowing self is to not have an objective (how cliche huh?) But if there must be one, it is to learn and observe as best one can the dynamics of that flux..and all other possible fluxs. To be dynamic in all perspective.. I think thats how one develops a true reverence for life,.. because they then can truly connect with it and understand it. For that also reflects being comfortable in "the now", the moment. Which could in turn be understanding self, simply by understanding existence/experience.

perception means something different to everyone, ironically, percieving the word perception involves use of perceptive brain functions, so its like saying, that car is green, when 1person sees it as turquoise, another blue-ish, another hazel, etc... the same goes for the def. of the word perception, people have been educated in diff. ways, so what 1 percieves as fact, the next man percieves it as fiction...., its an interesting topic though...i believe our unique life experiences each of us have slant our perception to fit what makes most sense to each of us.....
