A Theory about God
What if God was just belief? what if a mind gives us everything we need to make our reality? our bodies tools, that carry out anything the mind wants or wishes? what if you could do anything you wanted?
I think God is within all of us. The holy spirit inside all of us, that if we believe we can create. To me, the idea of organized religion seems like a way to personify this message rather than say "The answer is in you!" for people to achieve the same effect. What if nowadays people are too smart for that, that our collective conscious grew to an extent. What if, to an extent, through a psychic collective conscious, we are a singularity simultaneously experiencing itself through different perspectives? What if the idea of "Gods watching you" is a reference to your conscious? Everyone knows in the back of their mind that what they are doing is bad, whether or not they admit it to themselves. Think about it. All we are is concentrated energy. We're energy that has concentrated itself in a way that our minds create. Its the idea of one, of becoming whole, of unity. The Mayans said that the world had been restarted multiple times, and that the world was going to end in 2012 for good. What if previous worlds had been stupid or failed before us? What if, instead of the world ending and everybody dying and going to hell, peace prevails and we all become self-actualized beings and we spend eternity in heaven? What if that is the representation of heaven and hell used by religion? What if we have a certain amount of time until Judgement Day, and in the time alotted we have to unite the world and decide our own fate. Think about it: we do have the power and potential to do that. The world does have a chance.
What if technology develops super-rapidly and we are literally flying around the universe? What if the big bang reverts back to the big crunch? There is always recoil to an explosion. What if we cause it? What if aliens are super self-actualized beings who come from previous worlds, the last surviviors, who recolonized the earth multiple times in an attempt to save it and self-actualize the population, creating world peace? What if aliens are inspecting us and trying to guide us, to show us the way, without freaking us out? What if prophets were all self-actualized beings who understood this to a greater extent? Who realized the God inside of them and tried to spread the message of God? What if in previous worlds, no prophets existed because nobody came that far, or understood to that extent. What if hallucinogenics had contributed to this understanding? What if Mayans, by eating mushrooms in their diet, reached a greater understanding of the universe than our society? What if mushrooms contributed to evolution, both physically and mentally, throughout our history? What if nowadays, in a country such as America, our confidence brings us success over other nations? But now we become overconfident, and lose our place in the world? In our society, superficiality such as money and beauty create confidence, unfortunately. Peoples hollow pride will eventually get the best of them and fall apart. I believe in karma, to an extent. I think that, quoting the black guy from Harold and Kumar in the jail, "The universe tends to unfold as it should." People get whats coming to them, because they create their reality, they do bad things and get shit in return. You get what you give. I think the devil is in all of us. That battle of good and evil, the little guys on the shoulders, its inside of us. Temptation and greed and sin. The idea of representing this as a person helps people understand, and put a face on the idea. |

Technology is both a gift and a curse. It destroys the earth and distances us from our natural being, but at the same time, we wouldnt be talking right now and reaching this level of understanding.
I feel that the world and time exist for eternity. i feel that life isnt just a beginning and an ending. I feel that its a circle, all happening at once, stuck in the 3rd dimension. What if, by achieving that with our minds, by leaving this dimension, we discover heaven, and live for eternity? Or we burn in hell forever? Can you feel change? Can you feel the world as you know it unraveling around you? Things changing ever-rapidly at an ever-increasing space? Can you feel that the world is never going to be the same at all? Everything you ever knew about your world, completely irrelevant? What if, as a baby, we are pulled from the higher dimensions, our pool of souls reincarnating consistently and constantly, and through our life, as we grow, we struggle to become one again, whole, singular? could that be the meaning of life? to conquer this dimension and grow, become one, at peace, for all eternity? what if we are energy, a result of the big bang, expressing itself in attempts to slowly but surely regain its state prior to the beginning of the universe: infinitely small and dense? i just realized something. today is the day i began posting on yahooka, under another name, exactly a year ago. it feels like a strange coincidence, that i feel yahooka has become somewhat crucial in realizing these things and having this understanding. could it have been that way without yahooka? im really not sure.

God is something people made to feel more secure
When someone is dying, they may turn to god because they fear what will actually happen to them once they die When someone is in pain and thinks they may die, they may pray to god to help them, because they are afraid of dieing When someone is going through very hard times, they may turn to god to "help the struggle" IMO god is just something people from different religions created because they are afraid of what is going to happen Some people in jail pray to god, to help them get through the struggle it is to be in jail Others are atheist because they think "What has god ever done for me? ...... if there was a god i wouldnt be in here" and it is my theory that all religions started from one guy or a groupe of people, who were experementing with psychedelics and saw a "god" or heard "god"

in the west, we use concepts such as "god" and "the devil" to externalize responsibility for what happens to us in our lives. when something goes right we thank god for it, when something goes wrong we blame the devil for it. karma is somewhat similar, but it serves to externalize our responsibility through time. something good happens in reaction to good karma accumulated through past lives, and something bad in reaction to bad karma. the east at least admits that our lives are ruled by personal responsibility, but both are similar in that they separate the self from what happens to the self: the west separating the self from its experience through supernatural beings of what is considered good and bad, and the east separating the self from its experience through time. neither acknowledge our complete ability each and every moment for creating the reality we desire, nor our responsibility in creating the reality we have.
whatever the reason for developing this habit, we choose to maintain it moment by moment. getting closer to god is realizing there is no separation between you and what happens to you, nor is there separation between you and what you do to others. there's just this one moment, and you can find within it everything you are looking for. really, it's about getting closer to your self by learning to find what you want. it's about living your life as an artist, musician, or writer whose only limitation is his imagination rather than an archaeologist who is entirely limited by what people decided to leave in the ground.

^It's funny this whole concept of getting closer to god.
It implies through it's own meaning that it is something not where we are.. know what I mean!? ..I'm sure you do.M

God is nothing more then 3 letters forming a word that desperately attempts to capture an experience, a meaning. The only importance "God" has to anyone is the importance they decide to give it. It's how language works. What "God" represents for every person is different. Therefore, most discussion on the subject is just people attempting to get around the semantics of it all. As for the experience that, for the most part, we are all trying to describe... It is a childishly naive notion to think that we can conclude anything. To exclusively accept any one idea on the subject is laughable. I can only laugh now when I come across a mind that has decided to do such a thing in the face of so much fucking mystery. The old "I know one thing, that is that I know nothing." That's not to say that I know that I know that I know nothing at all, as I clearly don't. However I can always take a guess. For the slight majority of intents and purposes, in my opinion, you can think of "God" as the pin point of raw experience beyond all the filtration. No thoughts, or reasons, or conclusions, or expectations... The part that is taking all of this in. To demonstrate... Self-awareness. The self experiencing the self experiencing. You experience life and you experience you experiencing life. You are aware of this. "You," or "self," arise from the sparking connections between you experiencing and your experience of you experiencing. Rejoice, because as you do this, you are staring into the face of God.

i really believe that the church is just an externalized version of what goes on inside of us, that we, to a point, are all god, and are all the devil. I think that Jesus was a man who realized this, and became "the Son of God", and being as we are all God's children, tried to spread the message. but think of how extreme of a concept that is to try and explain to people? you would be killed instantly. so they externalized the message to create the same effect, without scaring the shit out of everyone.
Think about organized religion, and how it hurts the world. Theres Jews and Muslims and Christians fighting over the same damn area, protecting some holy rocks. Millions of people walk across the desert to see this rock. They pray five times a day while facing this rock. When what they were really looking for was inside them all along. I think its worth mentioning that yesterday i somewhat randomly stopped by a church to check mass times, and when i couldnt find them, ended up going inside to pray. I prayed for confidence and belief, and the same for family and friends. I cant remember the last time i went to church. probably a year ago. weird. |

im starting to think it could be possible to convince the world of this. what if the global population understood and were whole and at peace? if everyone realized that they were equal instead of competing and judging? how can you judge others when youre all the same, you are all god? its like this, imagine (god) x (6,602,224,175), and everyone one of them thinks they are god. thats pretty much how the world is right now. but would it actually be possible to convince the entire planet of this? to virtually wipe out every nation on the globe, no war, no races, no hunger, no suffering. is it possible to convince all the conservative politicians, stubborn elderly, foreign nations, african tribes, children?
but then again, think of how rapidly it would spread. think of how fast our collective intelligence increases all the time. think about it: its our answer to everything, it solves all of our problems, it saves us, it saves the world. if we all come together and realize this and understand it, our collective conscious could be strong enough to realistically do anything. if that doesnt work, we'll just feed everybody mushrooms, hah. maybe we should grow an enormous amount of them, farms and acres of them, and when the food supply gets low, theyll be the only thing left to eat. sounds like a good emergency plan. |

What do you mean by "God"?

I am glad to see you guys have been running through the same thoughts I've had for years now. Ive thought about this thoroughly and ultimately what it boils down to is this: (imo of course, though i believe it very true) We as humans are not individuals and the thoughts of God and higher beings in the universe are only brought to us through the development of society. The notion of trying to unravel the mysteries of God and life are never going to be achieved, not by one single person or a group of people i.e. religion. We humans are the only race that needs to multiply until all natural resources in that region are depleted similar to bacteria and the notion of individualism is futile due to the fact that we enslave ourselves with these thoughts of God as society grows. Which can't be helped! The fact that we realize this doesn not mean it will stop.
What I mean in a nutshell has to be traced back to the words of many philosophers which say the only true philosophical question is whether or not to committ suicide. "To be or not to be" as Shakespeare said "thus Conscience does make Cowards of us all" Last edited by superstoned1; 07-22-2008 at 12:49 AM. |

And at the end it said the only true free ones are the ones that kill themselves or something man i wish i could remember that last paragraph better... yeah i've thought back on that passage many times |

think about the idea of being whole, of being one. think of a circle. it has no corners or lines, just a consistent curve with no end. it is whole. The circle is an extremely coveted symbol. the sun, for instance, is worshipped by all life, as life would not exist without it. A clock represents time, represents the linearity of your life, but also never ends and exists for eternity. there is no end to time, for time does not exist, if only in this dimension. A circle is the centerpiece of everything: your ipod, your xbox power button, you steering wheel, your tires, your eyeballs. the very planet you stand on. when a man and a woman have sex, and kiss, therye bodies create a circle. unless of course its doggy style. but think of it, the circle is whole. to never end, to exist forever.

even your life is a circle. linear thinking cuts your life arbitrarily and makes it a line. we hide everything our linear thinking cannot account for behind this line -- our eternal nature, our relationship to god (everything), etc. -- and "fill in the blanks." death becomes the end of life rather than a part of it, "god" becomes an external supreme personality separate from the universe. this misconception of self results in a sense of mortality and selfishness, and the result of these is an entire globe seeking survival at the expense of others.
if we could take it upon ourselves to reinforce a circular sense of life, death would become a part of life rather than the end of it and our lives would become enjoyable instead of an unhappy struggle for basic needs. when death doesn't matter because it's a part of life and your life is a part of everything, the point of life branches away from survival and the way is cleared for the wonders you've been dreaming of. see it. be it. live it.
